Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd take the check for $40K and RUN to the bank...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok..your wisdom is humbly requested. I am selling my 99 cab with 38000 miles, hardtop and remaining 1 year of warranty. I've had it listed for 1 month and have received 1 phone call and 1 offer - same guy. He has offerred me $39500. I want to buy a 96 or 97 c2s so I can track it. I have it listed for $43900.
What do you think?
Thankyou in advance. This board is always so helful.
Get him to rationalize his offer. Explain what your 996 means to you and how you've taken good care of it. He visualizes himself in your ride and is sold on the deal. He compromises on the price and you got a deal. I'd say he will pony up $500-1000 more which is $40-41k, a fair deal.
he has offerred 40k. I am inclined to take it for the following reasons:
1. I have had my RMS fixed and he doesn't care.
2. He is not going to even have it checked out by a mechanic. I don't know of anything wrong withthe car but you never know on a PPI
3. There is a noticable crack in the windshield which he did not even mention.
4. My plates and license will be due here in 30 days, around 500 buckaroos. I figure it will take me 2 months to recoup the 1k I will eat on the sale.
5. Cabs are not selling here; in fact, 1999-2000 cars are not selling.
6. The dealer where I bought this car has a 99 cab with less miles but slightly rougher interior for sale at $39,500.
Comments on my thought proces??
I agree that you should take the deal. What I question is your comment about buying a C2S so you can track it. It's a pretty car but your 996 is a better track car.
Jim
really? I am pretty sure MY 996 was not a better track car.....
My (former) 996 was a cabriolet. I'm pretty sure that I couldn't track it. Or could I??? hmmmm
Anyway, thanks for all of the advice...I am no Porscheless and depressed.
All work and no Porsche make Timmy a dull boy.
The deal closed 60 minutes ago and the new owner is very happy. He left the windscreen at my house though so I will have to get that to him.
Thanks again!!
Jim is correct, the 996 is a better track car. I track mine with the hardtop ON for safety reasons and it handles like a dream. Granted the top adds 73# but I feel safer than relying in the pop-ups.
Just 2 weeks ago at Las Vegas Motor Speedway I held my own with a 360 modena and a TT. I agree that it is all the driver that makes the car great but it does help to start with a great car to begin with. BTW, I had the RoWM030 installed and it handles like a champ!
My wife had so much fun she is hooked now! Looks like I am going to go buy another 996 for the track for me. Probably a 996 coupe (not sure which model though). The 993's handled great on the track the few laps I did play cat and mouse with them but on the straights they had to let me by and int he corners I slowly pulled away.

Del...
When will you be looking to purchase?
Jim
dont,
I'm not saying that a c2s is a bad track car but if I'm looking to go fast I would pick the 996 any day. Now if I wanted to look good the answer might be different.
Good luck,
Jim
