Hi all My 04 c2 needs a new gearbox, so i am going to do a clutch while its apart, it will save me on the the labour. The car has around 31,000 KMS. Its a primary daily driver, is there something better out there? The car feels like it needs it anyways so why not. Can any one suggest what kind and where i can buy one, the dealer has quoted me $800.00 for the stock replacement. Thanks in advance .Paul

My 04 c2 needs a new gearbox... what happened to your gearbox? the 'box in my '00 996 quit at ~45k miles. we reused the orginal clutch when the 'box was replaced. the clutch held up fine till i sold it w/ > 95k.

2nd gear syncro, any time i am doing spirted driving and i am trying to downshift in to 2nd gear it grinds and will NOT go in unless its under 5,000 rpm, Porsche is going to warranty it but the clutch just doesnt seem right in any gear.

vivdracing has SPEC clutches. pretty good prices for kevlar, segmented discs. stage2 is good for 375HP and is recommended for daily driving. probably has an uprated pressure plate for better bite but maybe a little more pedal effort. i have a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch rated up to 380HP. it's been fine but it doesn't come complete with pilot bearings. my shop had to scramble and use the oem bearing. no prob but it would be nice if it was included. clutchmasters uses oem sachs parts then puts their own lining on the discs and uprates the pressure plate. ya getting ready for a supercharger?
