You know, you would have thought their Father would have changed doctors after Doc Butterfingers dropped the first boy on his head shortly after birth.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Still not exactly cheap, but 6 years ago this car sold for $260k with a 4 year waiting list.
Now the 996 and the C5 have a new brother. Just got it a couple weeks ago. (had it delivered on a wed night, and we left for vacation the next morning for over a week... kinda like marrying a supermodel, but the honeymoon is delayed)
'00 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 Coupe.
Congrats on the Italian princess. I want to add one as well to the stable,, but fear that these girls are prone to causing severe heartburn. Let us know how the love affair is going after 6 months, I really want to know how you will feel about this car long term..

I was talking to an F car owner the other day who had purchased a used 01. He had been doing some of the maintanance himself and was telling me that it was not to bad and had not really been hit with any big ticket service bills. The car had a fair amount of miles ( for an F car ) and to hear him talk, really got me thinking about taking the plunge.. I hope I come to my senses soon, before I find myself sitting in the garage crying over a broken Italian princess.

Check the prices on clutches for the lambo's... It will really turn your stomach,
Congratulations on your first step to the "dark" side, glad to see and hear another p-car owner able to experience the Ferrari experience. I was ruined for life after the Magnum PI show in the 80s, always wanted a Ferrari ever since then. For years I have been a Porsche guy, wouldn't even remotely consider buying a Ferrari until the 360 Modena model came along. And then again it was still way out of reach for me price wise, until the recently down turn in economy.
I bought my 02 spider in Jan of this year. She came with 12k miles on the clock, and with every single desirable option. Daytona seats, modular wheels, challenge grills, red caliper, manual transmission, cd changer, spare tire option, tubi exhaust, and scuderia shields. Full service records, and a local CA two owner car. Picked her up from a Ferrari dealer for $137k. Still not exactly cheap, but 6 years ago this car sold for $260k with a 4 year waiting list.
So far my Ferrari has been great, an absolutely awesome machine. This is really another step up from Porsche in regards to performance, road feel, and engine response. It is really an entirely different ball game. I consider myself a car guy, and the Ferrari experience pretty much tops my list of all my years of driving experience. All I can say is if you can afford one buy it!
The cost of ownership is about $1/mile. $2500 timing belt service once every 3 years or 30k miles, yearly fluid change about the same price as Porsches with the dry sump system. Other than that the clutch is about $3k for parts which includes the throw out bearing. And much easier to work on since it is a mid engine car. Doesn't require engine drop for clutch change. And by far all the components, parts used for the car is top notch and in many respect better than Porsche parts.
I am not trying to dog Porsches here, I still love Porsches greatly as I still drive one as a daily driver. But in the recent years Porsche have lost the "mystic", and "exotic" feel to it, especally here in Southern California. I haven't had anyone tell me that my Porsche is a nice car in years, which is great for a low key everyday driver. The Ferrari on that other hand is a major conversation piece, an attention getter. Some people may not like that. So far the experiences I have had with owning a Ferrari has been a 90% positive experience. Of course there are little things here and there, but they are very minor in comparison to the joy in return.
So if you want to experience the absolute top of line driving experience and you like to hide around the corner and watch people bow down to your car. BUY ONE!!! I am not joking about this, I have had at least 5 people bowed down in front of my Ferrari in the last 6 month. Just last week I parked my car in a newly opened upscale plaza in Chino hills, and when I returned there was a security guard guarding my car telling people not to get too close. At first I thought I didn't pay for the parking meter or something, when I asked why is he there he told me that this car is just absolutely beautiful and that he wanted to personally make sure no one got too close to it. While he was talking to me there were several people posed by my car and had their pictures taken. About 20 people watched as I got into the car and started the engine, I can still hear them say "WOW! Awesome!" LOL!
Absolutely beautiful car...but this is exactly why I wouldn't want a Ferrari. Good thing I can't afford one.
p.s. was that pic taken in Old Town Pasadena?
Nice , love the interior. I'm partial to the spider on this model, but your berlinetta is sharp!
I'm waiting for gas to hit 6 bucks a gallon, and some more crunch in the credit world, and I'm going to pick one up, they are beginning to real fall into the range where I will have trouble saying no.
I did the next best thing to buying a Ferrari. I have friends who bought them
Ferrari, Lambo, vintage sportscars, too. I'm a photographer and I use that to lure them in. I get to ride in them, drive them and I never have to pay to get them tuned up or repaired
BMW - Best at making street cars that can be turned into awesome race cars.
Porsche - The Bumble Bee of performance automotive industry. AWESOME!
Ferrari - Best at taking race cars and making Awesome street cars.
Yes, picture was taken on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. Ferrari club of America had a Ferrari Concourso event there, they closed down 3 block of Colorado blvd for us to park our Ferraris there. I think there were 160 Ferraris turn up on that day.
Yeah, neither of them drive their cars. You know, you would have thought their Father would have changed doctors after Doc Butterfingers dropped the first boy on his head shortly after birth. Obviously they didn't change Docs and he ended up dropping the second boy also.
