Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

And you can never know, if there IS snow on the roadside, if there will be melt running across the road on the next hairpin which could really mess with your day.

I'm sure the 997 is a 'better' car, but seriously, I can't justify the $70K or more to upgrade given my use of the car
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Posted this once before several years ago. Short answer: No.
'99C2 with 26k on it. No PSM that year (introduced on the C4, available on the C2 in '00 or '01). Been trying to sell the car because it's garaged for the winter. Took it out over the mountains yesterday. What a car!!!! I'm sure the 997 is a 'better' car, but seriously, I can't justify the $70K or more to upgrade given my use of the car
I feel a little irresponsible driving it for "fun", though, without PSM. That feature is being recognized as a legitimate safety upgrade. I might still sell (if anybody ever makes an offer
), getting another Porsche at some point whether new or used. But really, if I could just add PSM there'd be no reason to.
Wikipedia reiterates that aftermarket ESC is unavailable. But then they comment that:
"In 1996, during a moose test (swerving to avoid an obstacle) a journalist rolled a Mercedes-Benz A-Class people-carrier (without ESC) at 37 km/h. Because Mercedes-Benz promotes its reputation for safety, they recalled and
retrofitted 130,000 A-Class cars with ESC.
"

That would imply you CAN take a car without ESC and put it in there.
Comments?
A little confused... do you garage it because it does not have PSM and would you drive it year 'round if it did? If you would garage it anyway, you don't really need PSM for a fun car.
Any car that can be rolled on smooth pavement should be recalled, that is ridiculous.
Yesterday's drive
PSM would EXTEND my year by a couple of month's at each side of the season. Near the Rockies and you can imagine that as early as September or as late as May (this year June) weather can get into the mix. Sometimes unexpectedly. And you can never know, if there IS snow on the roadside, if there will be melt running across the road on the next hairpin which could really mess with your day.
That's the main reason for my interest. I wouldn't drive it all year for the simple reason that they gravel the roads on snow and I'd rather beat my VW....
