Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Some cities use salt on the roads during the winter snowstorms and after the snowstorm we had 2 winters ago Seattle says they are going to start using salt on the roads.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just recently bought a 2000 911 from a local dealer and since then I have been trying to figure out what the previous owners have done to the car. After seeing pictures of the stock mufflers online I don't think that I have stock mufflers. I don't see any markings on the muffler so I thought I would post a couple pictures up here and see if anybody recognizes them. Also, I think the headers may be aftermarket as well.

POST 2Original post

They aren't stock and they aren't Agency Power. Do you like how they sound?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think they are a bit tame. I started the car with the mufflers off and wow, that is a mean sound

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cool, thanks for the help guys. Guess I don't need to worry about spending money to upgrade my exhaust. Now I have to figure out why there is an expensive looking amplifier and 2 crossovers in the trunk when I can't find a subwoofer and I think the speakers are stock. Gotta love the mysteries.

POST 7Original post

They are sold by ztech and max speed on ebay and probibly others. They are made in China. They come bright stainless. and pretty good quality I think. Do you have the converters and the whole system? They are all corroded, but new its a neat system, about $2700

POST 8Original post

Wouldn't corroded stainless be the something less than good quality? They look good new on you car, but my factory 3.4 mufflers with 84K miles have less rust than the OP's... I would be very disappointed for $2700 to deteriorate like that. Oops sorry for the tangent! Wish I could say what they are, but for not a lot of money some FisterDs will give it great sound.

POST 9Original post

Well, maybe those werent stainless. But they look like the same components probibly made in the same place. You know some peoples whole car looks like those mufflers. Could be the snow salt or could live near water. Or just a matter of how they keep them. Not every car is destined to remain looking like new.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, it's a Seattle area car so it sees its fair share of wet weather. Some cities use salt on the roads during the winter snowstorms and after the snowstorm we had 2 winters ago Seattle says they are going to start using salt on the roads. I don't think its the same muffler as what is in the picture that okbarnett posted, the cross sections just don't look the same. As for the converters I think they are stock because they are stamped with "Germany" and a part number or something like that. Why can't these aftermarket manufactures stamp their stuff??!

POST 11Original post

Nice car! im in seattle as well. :-) my headers look exactly the same. and are stock.. but my mufflers look much better.. what ever those are , they didn't hold up very well...
