I have the 18" Carrera wheels which seem to fill the wheel wells...

but if you were to have trouble for some reason it'd be a lot easier to get porsche to help with the repair bill if there were Porsche spacers on the car rather than some aftermarket company?!?!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It has been difficult getting a straight answer on this question. 04C4S spacer size ? My porsche dealer said 5mm front and 17mm rear will work. "Stock wheels" (18x8-18x11)
I am looking for a more aggressive stance but certainly don't want the wheels hanging out of the wells.
Joe at Fab Speed said TechArt told him that I should go 15mm all the way around. $596. for the set.
Have any of you 996 C4S put spacers on and what size did you run.
I have never bought anything from Fab Speed but I have seen there name mentioned a lot. Any Pos or Negs w/ Fab Speed ?
Thanks to all.

I would agree to a little spacer on fronts. My friend has 25mm on rears with turbo twists and they work fine.
Those must be some fine spacers for $600. You can scan ebay and find every size and brand for a hundred or two.
Porsche only makes 2 sizes of spacers - 5mm and 17mm. Adding 5 mm to the front and 17mm to the rear will fill out your wheel wells and bring the tires flush with the wells. This will make a narrowbody with stock wheels(i.e. original offset) have the same stance as a GT3. I have done this and then compared to a brand new GT3 just to check.
Now several companies make all sorts of sizes of spacers but it is use at your own risk. I have a personal friend that had H&R's on their car and one of them cracked. I have heard that the Porsche spacers are actually H&R spacers with the Porsche name stamped on them - they are similar but NOT the same. Brandywine(who by the way has become a miserable parts supplier) sent me a set of H&R spacers 2mos late after I had specifically asked for & paid for Porsche spacers. They swore up & down that they were Porsche spacers but little did they know that I had another set of Brand New POrsche spacers to compare them with and they were different when compared to each other.
All of that being said, Porsche spacers are more $$$ than H&R or others but atleast they come with all the additional bolts and magnesium lug nuts (with the 17mm) that you would need. If you try and buy from a dealer, they sell the 5mm spacers in a set of 4 so it'd be best to split them with somebody - that's what Andy(Atlanta) and I did. He added this setup to his '03 C4S add it looks great. He has a lowered suspension as well and NO rubbing. A pharmacist I work with has an '02 turbo with this setup of spacers and lowered suspension as well - NO rubbing.
I would contact the eric the bumperplug man though - he can get you some incredible prices on porsche tequipment spacers and he can sell the 5mm spacers individually rather than in a set of 4.
good luck and don't risk your car by saving a few dollars - go for the porsche tequipment spacers. My local tech advised me that the only ill effect of the spacers would be that the wheel bearings would wear out sooner - most likely after 100K miles rather than 150-200K miles

I have a C2 on which I put 15mm spacers in the front only on my 17" wheels. I wasn't sure which spacers would fit, but when I noticed that Porsche offered 17mm spacers front and rear for my car, I knew I wouldn't have a problem. I bought H&R bolt-through spacers for around $90/pair, so the Tech Art price seems ridiculous. The H&R spacers are very high quality and very light. With bolt-through spacers like mine, you also need longer bolts (std bolts are 30mm). I bought 46mm chrome bolts from

and they look terrific. You can also get bolt-on spacers that come with studs, but you'll end up with more weight.
