Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've removed the stock seats from my other 911 - RS America - and used Sparcos with non-moveable seats.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I looking to buy a 2000 or 2001 C2. I did some test drives this weekend and while I love the car it is a bit tight for my 6'7" frame. Does someone have experience relocating the seat tracks in a 996? I'd like to keep street seats in the car as a daily driver. Rich

POST 2Original post

Hey Rich... A tall guy here too. In fact, I am 6'7" as well. I did the GT3 console delete to remove the lower console. This allows for extra rigth legroom. Also consider the three-spoke sports airbag wheel from AJ-USA. It is 1" smaller in diameter. As a result, I fit much better. As far as the seat tracks go, I am not sure. I myself enjoy track driving, so I will be leaning towards the GT3 seats with the Brey-Krause "tall guy" seat track mod. I have heard good things about this. I hope this info helps. Good luck. Chad

POST 3Original post

Tall Guy seat track mod? Maybe it can work on stock seats as well... You're definitely right about the console delete though.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the GT3 hints. I've removed the stock seats from my other 911 - RS America - and used Sparcos with non-moveable seats. I'l check out B-K. I don't plan to track it since I've got two other track cars. I want that cushy heated butt bucket here in chilly Wisconsin. Looks like I'll go ahead with the purchase and figure out the best solution when I take the seats out. Rich

POST 5Original post

The tall guy bracket is only for the GT3 style seats as they are side mounted. I am not sure about the stock ones... See here: http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r9079.php It lowers the GT3 seat another inch. I will be looking into this... Chad EDIT: Try this too... http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r9080.php
