Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know of a source for these in Toronto or immediate area? I would rather avoid cross-border shipping/purchasing/etc. I also want to make sure that whatever lines I do buy are good quality. not the ones with ends that rust/etc. Thanks in advance

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By the way, I also just learned that Goodridge does not make them for the 996 and they're supposed to be the best ones to get...

POST 3Original post

solaroli motorsports. al installed mine. you can ask him about them. here's his shop's number. [phone removed]

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Al packed up and moved to Florida. Yes, I have known him for years. It looks like I may not have any choice but to order them from somewhere in the U.S. and deal with Canadian customs nonsense.

POST 5Original post

^ his brother Paul is still running his shop in toronto i believe (called a few weeks ago) and he's just as good.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Paolo is still around? Thanks, I'll call him then.

POST 7Original post

i hope he's still around...i don't trust my car to anyone else and if they've both closed up shop, i'm SOL till i find someone else who is reliable.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Trust anyone else with what? It sounds like you're doing everything yourself, no?

POST 9Original post

^ i used to send my car to the solaroli brothers for installation of everything that isn't stock. Now i've become more of a DIY person and like doing stuff myself because i learn a lot. Am i going to go inside the block and install cam shafts? no. Can i do simple bolt on stuff like air filters and exhausts, oil, suspension (havn't done yet but am willing to try). My car pretty much never sees the dealer anymore except for schedualed maintenace just so i have the records uptodate incase i ever need to sell the car (not bloody likely).

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cams, no. Everything else is easy on this car. You'll see when you get your suspension and we install it

POST 11Original post

^ yeah..if they ever come..UPS has never sent me anything properly. i called the dealerhip in texas where i ordered my GT3 seats from and they said they were supposed 2 be delivered last weak. so i guess ups lost them. they put a trace on them and i will find out in 6-8 days...god dammnit.

POST 12Original post

Hey Dead Eye I ordered a Aerokit from stateside around 3 weeks ago,Called Fedex to today to find out where it is, and it turns out they cant f@#king find it!!!, Needless to say i am a bit pissed..Alon you need to worry about more then customs when ordering from stateside...................Good luck and i hope your order turns out better then mine

POST 13Original post

I ordered some Goodridge SS lines for my 996 from Mid America motorsport--however, the part numbers that they had were all screwed up and i actually had to order the Boxster kit since the one that was labeled as the 996 kit was actually for the 993. I don't know who's fault it was (mid america or goodridge) but I did indeed get SS lines for the 996. You might want to call goodridge and confirm the pn for the 996. Jeff

POST 14Original post

Just be careful with those ss brake lines, porsche motorsports does not recommend them because you may not detect a leak early enough.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Seriously? Damn, I really want to get them to avoid brake "pedal sponginess".

POST 16Original post

go ahead and get them...just treat ur car well. check ur fluid and maybe once in a blue moon inspect the lines.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I probably will. I trat my car very well and always inspect everything on a regular basis. I could always bring the stock lines with me to track events just in case...
