Good luck with the fix and please let us know what the cause of the problem was once you get it corrected.

The next day, I checked the fuse box and tried to replace the fuses that controlled the left side.

Well, I finally took the car to the dealer for its 15K service and they "inspected" my lights issue.

Suspected cause
Since all three lights in the headlight assembly went at the same time I would suspect the ground connection is loose.

Suggestion
Since none of the lights appear to work, I'd check the connection.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All:
Last March, I bought an 04 C4S with about 13K on the odo from a nearby dealer. Last weekend, I was driving home at night with the radio quite loud when I noticed that my driver side headlight flickered and eventually died! No park light, no headlight. The left-turn signal and brake lamp were still ok but no park light and headlight. I even tried putting on the highbeams and still no lights. I have the Xenon/Litronic package.
The next day, I checked the fuse box and tried to replace the fuses that controlled the left side. Still no dice. I'm getting ready to call the dealer to schedule my 15K service and to have the lights looked at.
Question 1: What gives about the lights? Is it anyway related to the fact that I had my radio on loud? I thought I might have blown a fuse but that wasn't the case.
Question 2: Would this be covered under my CPO warranty? Are these lights expected to die out in 3 years? Granted my car has low miles, are they also expected to die out for lack of use?
*sigh* Did a search and was not able to find anything related to CPO and headlights...

Thanks for reading up to this point.
Happy Holidays!
I do not have a CPO warranty on my '04, but I would imagine it would be covered under the warranty.
The electrical connection on the driver's side light assembly may have worked loose. Check your manual for instructions on how to and remove then reinstall the headlight assembly. It is a very straight forward process that takes just a few minutes.
I could be a bad or loose relay.
Good luck with the fix and please let us know what the cause of the problem was once you get it corrected.
Happy Holidays to you, too!
Do the high beams work?
Have you removed the headlight and checked the plug connections for corrosion?
If all that looks good then swap the bulbs from one side to the other and see if it is the bulbs.
Another possibility is a bad headlight switch - if it is not too bad then sometimes you can wiggle it and the lights will come on.
There is a realy for the fog lights but the main headlights do not use a relay.
if the parking light does not work in addition to the headlight, it may be the switch. I believe Dell had the same problem with his cab a few months back.
I had the same issue. It's most likely just a bad connection.
The whole assembly can work itself loose and lose the connection. Push it back in and turn on the lights, I bet they work again. My car was under warranty, so the dealer did something to make it a tighter fit and haven't had the problem again.

Thank You sooo much for your replies guys! I'm sorry it took me a while to reply myself, what with the holidays and all...you know. Anyways, I'll look into all of your suggestions and hopefully one of them does the job. The car is due for its 15K service so that's my fail-safe. If I'm not able to do the fix myself, then the dealer would be my safety net.
Yet another example of the usefulness of this forum as well as the graciousness of its members.
Thanks again guys and here's wishing you all a fantastic, twisty roads-laden New Year ahead!

Since all three lights in the headlight assembly went at the same time I would suspect the ground connection is loose. I'm not familiar with the headlights specifically but that would be my first guess.
Thanks for the additional comments, Dale and bronston!
Well, I finally took the car to the dealer for its 15K service and they "inspected" my lights issue. Turns out, the entire headlight assembly was just "loose" and just needed some "tightening". At least that's what the service rep told me. The suggestions from you guys on this board were spot on! No charge for the "tightening" - wasn't even a CPO issue. I guess that's a small consolation after shelling out $600 bones for the 15K service! Aaack!
Thanks again guys! Happy New Year!
