If you use aftermarket "TT" rear bumpers they will fit well and I believe you will not have to change the exhaust system and tailpipes.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does the 996 Turbo or C4s rear bumper fit straight onto a narrow body 996 without modification, or is there some work required to make it fit, as I know it must be wider ???? thanks, SP

POST 2Original post

There is a little bit of work required. Do a search, I think there are a few threads about DonW in Cape Cod doing his...

POST 3Original post

Or....There are places to get a Turbo "style" rear bumper for the narrow body. They look identical to the widebody, just will fit on a narrow body without modification.

POST 4Original post

Newport-- any info re: where you can get this? Thanks.

POST 5Original post

Hi: If you use a factory TT rear bumper on a narrowbody it WILL fit. The sides will be flush with the fender but the rear part of the bumper will not quite fit flush. If you didn't point it out probably no one would notice. With the factory TT rear bumper you will also have to change the exhaust because they exit the TT rear bumper closer together than stock. You will also need TT exhaust tips as well. If you use aftermarket "TT" rear bumpers they will fit well and I believe you will not have to change the exhaust system and tailpipes. At least it looks that way in the pics of the white 996 above. The only difference is that the aftermarket bumper covers are usually fiberglass not poly like factory. My before and after pics..

POST 6Original post

So which do you have Don? Yours looks like it fits perfect.

POST 7Original post

There appears to be a slight space between the tail light section and the bumper in Don's "after" pic. Is that what you were referring to, Don? Looks great anyway.

POST 8Original post

I have the factory TT only because I wanted factory stuff and the poly v the fiberglass...and yes GBG, that is the difference you see.
