I ordered some rubber caps for the brake calipers to replace the painted ones.

Suggestion
Although I've never taken the rubber caps completely off, I presume that you could continue unscrewing the lock nut until the nipple head comes off, thus allowing you to remove and replace the rubber caps.

I can change and bleed the brakes and clutch on my bike in about ten minutes using the speedbleeders.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Gave my car in to a so called 'Porsche Specialist' to get calipers painted red. They did at first impressions a really good job. Got the logos on etc. However the idiots who did it sprayed over the rubber gromets that cover the 'bleeder valves' (I think they are called). They are visable from the front of the caliper.
I dont trust them to fix it cos they messed up my side skirts which are going to be fully replaced and painted.
I ordered some rubber caps for the brake calipers to replace the painted ones.
Below is a picture I found (not my calipers) to show what I mean by the rubber cap.
Can I replace these caps myself? I will have to unscrew the valve to attach it properly. Anyone done this... any tips?
There's a little lock nut under the nipple head that is loosened when bleeding the brakes. When this nut is loosened, the black rubber caps also become loose and mobile.
Although I've never taken the rubber caps completely off, I presume that you could continue unscrewing the lock nut until the nipple head comes off, thus allowing you to remove and replace the rubber caps.
Just be ready to rebleed your brakes...
I've taken them off on my motorcycle which has brembos. Yes, you will have to remove the bleeder valve completely. It's threaded and comes out pretty easily. As RF said, you'll have into'd air into the systema and bleeding will be necessary.
Not sure if they have them for our cars, but speedbleeders would be a good thing to install while you're doing it. They're about 4 dollars each and work great. I can change and bleed the brakes and clutch on my bike in about ten minutes using the speedbleeders. go to speedbleeders.com
not sure how they work with abs and all that though, but it does make bleeding a one man job.
Vorland - when you go to put the new calipers on, you will have to bleed the brakes obviously. But you don't have to take the entire screw out to take those rubber grommets off - they actually can be pulled off over the bottom of the screw and it doesn't rip or tear them. I did it the first time by accident then had to put it back on over the screw and was surprised how easy it was. I've been doing it that way ever since without any problems (knocking on wood)
good luck and the new calipers will make your car look completely different!
Try this first. Take the rubber cover off the bleeder nipple. Squeeze it, rub it, <insert your own joke here>. See if the paint flakes off the rubber. I suspect that it will, and you'll end up with black rubber caps again.
