Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I was out for a drive today and rounded a corner at slow speed. Immediately after shifting from first into second, I heard a very nasty metallic clunking sound, and then for the next 100-200 ft of driving, heard what sounded like something scraping against the rear passenger wheel (or perhaps the ground). I then stopped the car at the roadside and took a look underneath but couldn't see anything. Sound has disappeared since. Anyone have any ideas as to possible causes? Thanks in advance! MT

POST 2Original post

Could be your CV joints. How many miles are on the clock?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply mffarrell! I've got about 154,000 km's on the car (approximately 90,000 miles). Are CV joints an expensive repair? MT

POST 4Original post

Nearly the exact same thing happened to me about a year ago, I thought I had run over something big...pulled over and nothing. The car has been fine since.....wierd.
