Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I sold my C4 cab much sooner than expected so I am Porsche-less. I have three options as I see them now: 1.) I am looking at an anniversary model now. The Porsche rep's car. Sticker was 96K and the car has 3800 miles. I can buy the car for 68K. 2.) Same dealer has an 01 turbo certified by Porsche that I can buy for $80K. the car has 9000 miles. It's a tip, but I might actually prefer that on a turbo since I do a lot of city driving. 3.) Order a new 997 S. I have to let my local dealer know Tuesday if I want the July build slot and what options I want. I realize they are three very different options. The reality is that I don't keep my cars long. Which one will beat me up the least if I try to flip in it a year or two? Opinions welcome.

POST 2Original post

The brand new one will be the worst if you sell it in a year or so. You'll take the biggest hit there. Get one of the used ones that have already depreciated. I'd go for option two. Seems like a fair price depending on options. Tip might not be as much fun, but since you're doing a lot of city driving that may be the best choice for you.

POST 3Original post

The 01 turbo is going to devalue quickly. But theres a lot of good used 03 and 04 cars out there. NOT just the ones that are on that dealers lot.

POST 4Original post

I think from a value standpoint in a year from now, each one will depreciate by approx. the same money (I'm guessing $10k-$12k) so go with the one that will make you the happiest.
