Had to replace the battery in my '01 cab recently. Disconnected battery requires entering the audio security code.............much to my surprise the code on my card won't work. Is there some not so obvious trick to entering the code, or am I in for a trip to the dealer?

yes there is , after you enter the code you must press the long button that makes the cd selections go up and down press this button down once and your radio should come on

I had a similar problem. After several unsuccessful attempts....I finally RTFM. It turns out that if you make too many attempts in too short a period of time....the system locks down and then you must wait for a certain period of time (I think it was an hour) before you cna try again. You might want to look at the manual for the exact procedure.

Is your unit a CDR220? From my Porsche CDR220/CR220 Operating Manual: "After switching on at the ON button, the prompt CODE, followed by 4 stars is displayed. The four-digit code must be entered using the multifunction buttons "1-0". The unit switches on automatically after entry of the 4th digit if this and all other digits have been correctly entered". If your code does not work, your Porsche dealer can confirm the code for your specific serial number radio if you satisfy him you have not stolen the radio from someone else. Generally just takes showing the title of your car.
