Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

He said he's filled the bottle more than 100 times on the na.
Leading evidence: 'Fill bottle more than 100 times' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill bottle more than 100 times' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If my computer and other parts are already there, do you think this would be reasonable or do my other parts already have me running on the edge?

A friend of mine was running spray on his 996 for months, it was a 50 shot.It worked real well too, untill one day he came over and said" Dude i just uped the spray pill" I asked to what?

I'm sure you could have a reasonably reliable system if you go with one degree colder spark plugs and use 91+ octane with a small 35-50hp setup or something like that.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i think sharkey has on his hyper uber duper drag ultimate car (i've run out of superlatives...it is just that cool looking). but then again, that is a turbo. Shoot him a pm or email him @ sharkwerks.
LOL so true. Hope you have your flamesuit on and you're ready to
I searched a bit on this a while ago and I don't think anyone has really done it on an NA 996. I'm sure you could have a reasonably reliable system if you go with one degree colder spark plugs and use 91+ octane with a small 35-50hp setup or something like that. After that you really have to tune your car for it, and it's a big risk. Purists will find this thread shortly and tell you that it doesn't belong on a Porsche.
I have put the juice on a number of cars over the years. Not any Porsches. I agree with bowmanm98 a very small system like the NOS sneaky pete could work to give you a little extra with out a lot of danger. However anything past that could be trouble fast.

Hehe thanks Dead-Eye,
Actually the only NOS system I employed on my car was as an IC cooler... However doing a NOS system on a 996 in my mind would need to be limited to 30-40.. anything above that you'd need to either get tuned (nobody would risk it) and or get a seperate fuel system to support it. Also it's not exactly a strong block and you'd be risking a lot. I'd never do a "dry" shot either. Always do a direct port or wet system... However the fact remains there are way safer ways to get 30-40 horsepower all the time with an exhaust, headers, intake and tuning... I've known two people that have tried NOS on their NA 996 and let's just say the block didn't take kindly:*
A friend of mine was running spray on his 996 for months, it was a 50 shot.It worked real well too, untill one day he came over and said" Dude i just uped the spray pill" I asked to what? he said 80, I thought to myself .mmm Interesting. Needless to say second pass he was bus lengths in front of me. Then ....he broke and I passed him.Leaned out and now is building a motor for his car.So the point of this long winded story is this 50 HP = good 80 HP = bad and ugly.I will admit I didnt feel bad when I said " I told you so"
Thanks Sharkey and others. I've already pimped my car out with an excess of performance parts. I'm always hunting for more speed. Lately, I've concentrating on weight loss. There is a company that makes a plenum diverter. I've been thinking about trying one of those. Most of the other parts, I already have on the car.
The Nitrous dealer told me he had two 996's with juice, one na and the other tt. He said he's filled the bottle more than 100 times on the na. He said it ran faster than his tt. With the dry kit, he supplies a 50 hp, 80 hp, and 110 hp jet, I think. He recommended using the dry direct to the airbox on the filter side. He said this was simple and reliable. I'd like to believe him, but I'm scared for my car.
Maybe a dry kit with 25 hp and 35 hp jets? If my computer and other parts are already there, do you think this would be reasonable or do my other parts already have me running on the edge?
No worries and on the plenum diverter and the larger throttle body (I saw these at the German Autofest) make sure you get programing for it
I wish you luck on the 100 dry shot etc.. but honestly, I'd be very scared of doing that. At least have a dedicated fuel system or.. well I just wouldn't do it
