Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What a PITA!! I was going to order new bushings ahead of time from Powerflex, but the sizes are so close that it looks like I have to take the bar off in order to find the correct size. I have tried to measure on the car so I can use it this wknd but I have gotten 3 different measurements. Anyone know an easy way to tell what size bar your car came with, without removal of said bar?

Wrap a solid bare copper wire (a piece of 12 or 14 ga would work) around it and divide the length of the wire by 3.14 (pi). (a string might stretch)

I thought about that but we are talking sizes of 21.5mm,22.5mm,23mm and 23.5mm. So I think that the string method could be misleading depending on how tight you got the string.

POST 4Original post

Slide successively smaller open end wrenches over the bar until you get to the one that is a snug fit.

POST 5Original post

I thought the measurements for the roll bar were as follows: 1. OEM (US) 23.1mm 2. ROW M030 23.6mm 3. GT3 26.7mm 4. HR 26mm Try using a digital micrometer and lock it.

That maybe correct. I guess what I was referring to were the sizes available to order for the 996 through Powerflex. That makes sense though because the most consistent measurement that I get with my mic. is 23mm.
