I don't think so but it can't hurt to ask. Time to look at after market solutions. Search 200 cell cats.

no such thing as a 2001 C4S, 2002 first year - 2004. Unless you have the bill of sale on the new porsche cats I would not think so. Get an aftermarket set anyway, performance, sound weight and looks improvment and cheaper.

Warranty on emmissions is 8 years/80K miles. If it's an 01 you are SOL.

I am curious on why this is the second set of cats to fail on this car. Cat failure is not very common. Could be bad gas, bad AOS or other factors, but I would want to know as part of the replacement.

My cats were replaced under warranty at about 74K miles. My dealer mentioned to me that they were failing while the car was in the shop for a new RMS.

If I remember right, replacement cats get an additional 8 years, 80k miles per federal regulations. I have seen cat failure on a 996 C4S in Alaska, likely due to low-quality fuel (90 octane is the best fuel available in AK).

If you were the owner of the car when the original cats were replaced five years ago Porsche might give you some consideration on the cost. But as the next owner and past the 8/80 original warranty, you are on the hook I suspect. Cost of doing business in Porscheland. And no 2001 C4S, only C4.
