This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

If your hardwire kit has additional wires connected (ie - remote mute for the 8500, etc.) the V1 will still start up and work but you won't be able to get into the advanced configure options...I found this out when I tried to use my 8500 lighter outlet adapter on the V1 for a road trip.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All, I've got my Escort Passport 8500 x50 hardwired to the sunroof motor. I just bought a V1 to try out and I am wondering if I can simply plug the existing hardwired phone plug from my Passport to the V1? Is there any potential damage to be done with that? thanks... josh

POST 2Original post

Yep, as long as it's just the center 2 wires connected it'll work fine, these are your pos./neg. leads and are the same between the 2 detectors. If your hardwire kit has additional wires connected (ie - remote mute for the 8500, etc.) the V1 will still start up and work but you won't be able to get into the advanced configure options...I found this out when I tried to use my 8500 lighter outlet adapter on the V1 for a road trip.
