I will talk to Brian, GHL business owner, and recommend he include a simple diagram of the 3-mounting bolts that need to be taken off in order to drop the muffler.

I used a lift and took the rear wheels off for easier access; however, I think you could do it also with the rear wheels on.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just installed the GHL mufflers today. The installation took 2 hours but now that I have that experience I think I could do it again in 1 . For those that wish to attempt this, (and it is very simple), you need to undo 3-bolts that mount the muffler to a bracket. That bracket is mounted to the car. These bolts are horizontal to the ground. Dont get tricked into undoing the 2 vertical bolts that hold the muffler to the bracket, like I did. The old muffler and attacked bracket have to come out as one piece. You will need a 13mm socket and there is not much room in there so you will have to go fairly slow.
Once out, you then take off the muffler bracket and install it on the GHL mufflers and then install back on the car.
I used a lift and took the rear wheels off for easier access; however, I think you could do it also with the rear wheels on. (Ask GHL)
Inpressions:
On startup and idle: The sound is just a little louder and deeper. Not much and just noticeable.
Normal driving 2000-3000 RPM shift points: Again, noticeable but not by much. Deeper sound but not worth the price, YET.
Aggressive high RPM driving: This is where the GHLs really make a difference. Much deeper, aggressive engine sound. Not over bearing, but I wound not want to go much louder than this setup. (I have a Cab)
I hear a BIG difference in sound when open throttle and approaching 4,000 RPM.
Also, the quality looks very good and the welding professional.
So Thus far, after an hour of riding top up and down I would recommend them.
I did call GHL and talked to JJ during the install and found him and the GHL staff to be both professional and helpful. I will talk to Brian, GHL business owner, and recommend he include a simple diagram of the 3-mounting bolts that need to be taken off in order to drop the muffler. (I spent hour taking off the 2 vertical bracket bolts before I realized that was not going to work.)

Yep, and screwing the d*rned bracket back on is tough because of the tight access. my hands were cramping...
I think that with time, you will notice a significant difference from stock mufflers, even at idle. Mine makes a nice little rumble. Low RPM's are also much louder IMO. I get a noticeable roar under hard acceleration around 3,000 RPM. To get an idea, have someone drive off hard while you stand behind the car, and you will see what I mean.
Enjoy!
I just installed the GHL in my car yesterday and I agree with you. I got fooled in taking out the two large bolt instead of the 3 nuts on the bracket. It did not take me too long to do the instalation I did it in 1.5 hours it should have taken 45 to50 minutes. As far as the sound I like the acceleration it seems to rev freely at 5000-6700 rpm and the sound has a nice mechanical roar(eg...ferarri like not as good though) and it is not too loud. However I feel that the initial start 1500-2500 the sound is rather booming throatty, sort of V8ish. Maybe it might be my air box modification, I'll try to put back the air box muffler. I have a question does anyone have any suggestion for headers?
It feels like it pulls a little stronger, but I think it may be in my imagination. I really don't think mufflers give any more power though. I just might be influenced by the sound
my GHL mufflers have been on less than 100mi. i will say this; they sound better to me now than at install. i don't think it's my imagination, perhaps someone can comment why this happens. is there some sort of "burn-in" period that takes place?
cheers
