Since it's fair to say you probably have had it for a while, I'd suggest checking whether the tire had odd treadwear.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So when changing my rear tires, the guys showed me I had a small bent in my right rear tire (not the one that blew out). Must have been driving with it for a while. - What should I do to get it fixed? - What will happen if I leave 'as is' - Anybody knowing an excellent rim fixer in Charlotte? Thanks as usual!

POST 2Original post

tire may bleed air slowly if its not maintaining a tight seal anymore. if it's big enough, the structure of the wheel is compromized and is unsafe to drive on. how small is a small bend (2mm is different from 2cm)? it might be more expensive fixing it than just replacing the rim. can't help you with a rim fixer in charlotte unfortunatly.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

they showed it to me when they had the rim on the balancing machine... it's onthe inside of the rim, probably a couple of mm's (definitely not cm's)

POST 4Original post

If it's not leaking air and it's the rear one, you may not notice given your description. Since it's fair to say you probably have had it for a while, I'd suggest checking whether the tire had odd treadwear. If it doesn't you can probably just keep using it. Otherwise, you might just want to pick up a nice used one from Wheel Enhancement.

POST 5Original post

Check balance of the wheel. If it's off, get it fixed. This will cost about $200 since they'll have to reshape it and then repaint it. Otherwise, look for one on sale on eBay.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I changed my tire earliertoday, they balanced it. Or do you mean something else?

POST 7Original post

The rear wheels often bend on the inside and no one notices for months. Usually there is a vibration that causes people to notice. Repairing bent wheels is possible, but not always a good thing. If its bad, it can crack during straightening. Even if it is fixable, there will be a weak spot there. It generally runs $75-$120 to fix it plus the dismount/mount/balance. We are in Charlotte and would be able to look at the wheel to see.
