Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just out of curiosity, I plugged in the above car into Edmunds used car appraiser.

Buyer beware buying any used car ESPECIALLY from an auction.

The in-service date (the date from which warranty started counting) was actually September 2002, so the warranty should run thru 2006.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This sux. I know it makes sense financially but it still SUX
Rather than sell my townhome and take the equity and move downtown, I'm gonna sell the Porsche and use that money towards my downtown condo. Think I can get $60K for an immaculate, 2001, Arctic Silver C2, with not even 7000 miles? It has litronics, technics package, psm, 3-spoke steering wheel and 18" sport designs. The title is free and clear. The in-service date (the date from which warranty started counting) was actually September 2002, so the warranty should run thru 2006.
Thanks guys for any input.
Edit on 9/8/03: Since this thread has sparked some more interest, I thought I'd share the exact options on my 6-speed car:
 Arctic Silver Metallic paint
 Comfort Package
 Technic Package
 Heated Front Seats
 3-spoke leather streering wheel
 Porsche Stability Management
 Porsche lettered mats
 18" Sport Design Wheels
 Porsche crest in headrest
Original list was $77,200.
You can certainly ask, it's not too far from what you can sell it for. The new 03 at base price IS only 5-7K more, but that's base. Your options are not excessive, and are options most would order with their new 03 as well.
That's on a private sale. Bear in mind that dealer trade-in would offer about $50K.
I don't want to disappoint you too much, but the Porsche market is just not where it should be. I think you'd be lucky to get $57K in an sellers' market, and a more realistic value is $50K - $54K.
I have a turbo and I am in the same boat - I think the car is work $93K - $96K but everyone else seems to think that $88K - $92K is where it tops out.
Unfortunately, there is not enough demand to support the supply of Porsches right now.
02 C4S, 3,700 miles. dealer gave me 60k for trade in value. instead, did a consignment with dealer, got 75k in my pocket. the most important thing... car had been sitting in the lot for only 6 days before it's sold.
Just out of curiosity, I plugged in the above car into Edmunds used car appraiser.
...................................Trade in..............Private..............Dealer
Base price ....................49K.....................53K..................56K
plus options
plus low miles
plus xlent cond = .........57.6K..................61.4K..............65.6K

You brought up an interesting point. The husband of my wife's co-worker mentioned that if I wanted, I could attend a car auction to look for a car.
What do you think a low mileage '02 cab would cost at auction?
Is it safe buying a car that came from an auction? Would you get service records etc.?
When I sold my 911SC privately, I gave the owner all my paper work with all service records. However, when I traded a BMW M Roadster, I didn't give the dealer the records since they didn't ask me for them. (I even tried to leave some extra quarts of BMW synthetic oil @ $8 a quart with them but they didn't want it.)
I'm a little leary of getting a car from an auction. Is that "dumb"? Or do many of the used Porsches at the dealer come from auctions?
Sorry for the long note.
Charlie
Buyer beware buying any used car ESPECIALLY from an auction.
Many of the cars that end up at auction are there because the dealer didnt want to sell it on their lot.
This could because of mileage, the car doesn't fit the market, dealer only sells a specific make, accident history, mechanical, etc.
You can get some good deals but you need to make sure you know what you are getting into or your great deal will end up costing you a great deal.
yeah, i'd be fairly surprised if my $90k list 01 cab with 12k miles brought $60k and would be shocked if a coupe did.
to the auction question, i bought and sold cars for a living in college and for fun after and can tell you that you certainly better know what you are doing at auction - cause the guy on the other side sure the hell does. like someone mentioned, a large % of those cars are there and not on retail lots for a reason!
