Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I plan on changing to Motul 300 on the next nice day, and have seen most DIY info doesn't mention removing the rear wheel. Would it be easier if I do remove the driver's side rear wheel?

POST 2Original post

I don't see how removing the rear wheels would help. As long as you can get under there you'll have plenty of space to do what you need to do.

POST 3Original post

It's easiest if you get one of those car body rotisseries, flip it on the roof, only way to ensure you got all of the old gear oil out.

Ha! As long as most of the old stuff comes out, I'm happy.

POST 6Original post

^^^^ me either The Motul 300 is an excellent idea. We changed to Motul 300 75w-90 about four months ago, and the improvement was amazing No need to remove any wheels

POST 9Original post

Don't use anything but the Porsche gear oil. You will regret it. You will get a very balky gearbox when cold. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Thats a pretty stupid comment.

POST 11Original post

Motul 300 is great in the cold. I put it it mine about 1 month ago and it has been much easier to find first..and by cold I mean 15 - 20deg F

POST 13Original post

I just did Motul 75w/90 a few weeks ago. No more difficult when cold than whatever was in there before (uncertain age), and we've had temps town to about 15 F. I removed the rear wheels but I was also doing some muffler work. You could probably do it without removing the wheels, but having them off does make access easier.
