Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 4Original post

What are the benefits of moving to a 997 air box?

POST 5Original post

It's more aesthetically pleasing if you're looking at the engine.

X2, gonna try modifying a 997.2 DFI to fit as it has more surface area and flow.

The dual intake version can be used if you have an aftermarket or OEM wing that has two air intake ports such as found on the GT3 wings. I have the early gen 1 GT3 wing that I sealed off the second intake as I have the single OEM intake box but at some point I'm going to try the 997 dual intake box and install the second air intake. Probably gives more ram air affect but unknown how much extra (if it all) performance it gives. The motronic has the ability to alter fuel to match air pressure but most likely this would amount to a few extra hp at most. Mainly for looks I guess.

Still debating on completely removing the engine fan(as it hardly goes on) or replacing it with a slim line fan. Also will need to reroute the oil filler tube.

been driving without the purge fan for a few months now including hot Texas summer. No issue what so ever. I figured main issue is probably after a fast drive once the car is parked. Check my project post, I also opened the other side of the engine cover to allow some more air circulation.
