Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Installed the X74 suspension on my 99 C2 last Saturday and I must say it is one awesome package. The improvement in handling is very impressive. Ride is much more firm but not uncomfortable or harsh. Installation was relatively easy and took about five hours with two of us in my friends garage. I want to thank my friend George (george996) for his help and Gert from Carnewal for suppling the kit and for answering my many questions.

POST 2Original post

Looking good...... now when are you taking her to the track??

POST 3Original post

Looks super! Really like white 911s. Just interested, what is your new ride height?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks... Not sure... There is a few more things I want to do before I think about going to the track.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. Measuring from the fender across the wheel to the ground the rear is 25 3/4 and the front is 25 1/2.

POST 6Original post

Congratulations...I installed the X74 on my year 2000 996 several years ago and have been very pleased. The handling is much improved yet the ride is not unreasonable.....my car dropped about an inch in height......I also worked with Gert..... I had her on the track as late as last weekend at VIR and couldn't have asked for more...let's just say the car is far beyond my driving skills..... Enjoy.....

Great. Looking forward to getting together...

POST 10Original post

thats a perfect example of what a drop and a nice set of wheels do to a stock 996 look.... if I didnt have an aerokit... this is the way I would do it.... looks wise that is.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6048698

Thanks.... The aerokit is on my mind, but I want OEM and it is a little steep. But I think it needs it so stand by....

A few more things you want to do to your car?

POST 13Original post

hey PMKAZZ your car looks great in white and very 'hunkered' down, nice job!

POST 14Original post

White does look great, even the amber lenses look good on it! So let's guess, next up is an Auspuff (exhaust)? You're in Dana Point, do you ever roll to cars & coffee in Irvine Saturday morning? It'd be fun to catch up with other Rennlisters there....

Heeheehe, well you got me, but only amber in the back and soon to be gone... The exhaust has been changed and now consists of Hergesheimer MotorSports modified mufflers. I have never been to cars & coffee in Irvine but I have been planning on it. I will let you know and we can catch up...

Gear shift needs to be done. To much throw. Also, would like to upgrade the brakes, and..... Just having fun...

POST 18Original post

pmkazz, Don't let things like that stop you from tracking the car if you're honestly interested in tracking it. Bone stock these cars are plenty capable on the track. Unless you're very, experienced you won't notice the difference nor be able to maximize the "benefits". That said, enjoy your mods as you see fit. -KJ

Thanks KJinDC.

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 6053220

This is a very good point. In fact for most moderate track-nuts like me the stock Brembos are excellent. And unless you're going at some pretty incredible speeds, upgrades like the 993TT big reds do offer more stopping power, but also increased weight at the corners.
