Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So my headlight switch is, to use the German, Kaputt. I'll be replacing it myself but I want opinions on whether to buy it new for $106 or used and working for $40. I know these things are notorious for glitching so maybe new is the better choice? You opinions on used/salvage parts vs. new parts in general? Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

If I were trying to sell the car, I would get used. If I plan on keeping a long time, I'd buy new.

POST 4Original post

I just replaced mine this past year and the first one lasted from new for 8 years.

POST 5Original post

If the difference is only $66, I'd go with the new part with warranty.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I sourced the part at Pelican, does the Porsche warranty apply?
