Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use a Britax Marathon for my 2 year old and a Britax Starriser for my 5 year old.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, i was wondering if it was easy to find a non porsche child seat that would go in the back seat of a 996. I think that the porsche child seat for group 1 (about 1 year old) is and old conception.
Thanks a lot.
I agree that the Porsche seat is out of date - it is a lousy fit in the back seat of my 997S as it was in my former 996. You basically must have the Porsche seat for the front seat (because of airbag deactivation), but anything that fits can be used in the back.
I'm actually planning on shopping this weekend for something that fits well in the back - will post info if I find something. I'm hoping to be able to carry samples out of the store to try in my car before I buy.

The Britrax Starriser is an exact copy of the Porsche seat at half the price. The bottom of the seat is adjustable whit-wise...which is a must to get the seat in. Furthermore, the back rest is removable when your child grows up and it becomes a booster seat. Not sure in Europe where you can order one but it's definitively the Porsche seat. amazing how much you save when you don't need to Porsche Logo ;-)
Cheers.

Starriser looks good and that's a bargain. But its for older kids, over 40 lbs. My 3 y/o is tall for her age, but I'm not ready to put her in a belt positioning booster seat yet.
OK,
I consider myself the expert in this field of study
and I have taken extensive measurements of both the rear space volume of the car and have measured some 3 dozen baby seats for a child we intend to adopt later this year (there is a pretty good 3 pg thread about this I started 6-8 weeks ago).
Anyway, the seat I bought which was the smallest I could find but yet rated for both rear and front facing children is the Dorel 22-110-WAL (sold by Wal-Mart).
One additional tip is you can save another 2" by removing the lumbar pad and seatback. The dealer can do this for you.
I just put a standard Graco child seat/booster in the back of my 996. The front seat (passenger) has to be moved way forward, but my daughter also isn't big enough for a straight booster yet. Other than moving the front seat forward, it works great, and she loves riding in Daddy's Porsche. The only downside is that my 2000 996 doesn't have LATCH attachments, which makes installing the car seat a pain.
I use a Britax Marathon for my 2 year old and a Britax Starriser for my 5 year old. Both fit in back just fine, but to make just a little more headroom I removed the bottom seat cushions. I didn't remove the seatbacks as I thought this would likely cause injury as the cargo area only comes up about 1/3 of the way up the Starriser's seatback.
I usually carry the Starriser in the nose when not in use... it is easy to disattach the seatback from the bottom.
