ca996, apart from the car looking like its on stilts, the "floatiness" is exactly why I need to change the suspension.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, after a little bit of interior mods, I am onto some real mods! SSK should be here soon and I just ordered PSS9s from Gert @ Carnewal (great deal, slightly better than shox.com). Now the questions: I'd like to change to thicker sways and obviously GT3 sways comes to mind. But the need for special drop-links is making me reconsider. Also, I really don'y think I'll need the additional adjustability. I saw that H&R offers a set (rear adjustable only?) and I think they don't need special drop-links... anyone with real-life experiences? In talking to Gert, he suggested one more option - M030 fronts and GT3 rears. This way its all OEM and no need for drop-links. My concern is that the M030 is only marginally thicker than stk. FYI, this is what I found from searching: (f/r) Stk 23 18.5 M030 23.6 19.6 GT3 26.8 20.7 H&R 26 23 One more option would be to do nothing and see what improvements the PSS9s bring and then decide on the sways later. In doing the suspension mod, I'd like also to push the wheels out a little so I am thinking the factory reccomended 5mm spacers all around. BUT, 5mm seems so little, will it be noticeable at all? I have seen some pics of 15mm all around and they seem too much?! Are there 10mm factory spacers? I'd love to hear what u guys think, especially anyone local to the Toronto area! thanks

POST 2Original post

How do you plan to use your car? I ask this because it is possible to get sway bars that are too stiff for the rest of your setup. Also, the stiffer the swaybar, the stiffer you will have to set your PSS9s. If I were you, I would change your suspension incrementally, and see how you like each change rather than throw everything on at once. I speak from experience, and it is a really pain in the $%^& to tune in a suspension really well. I gave up and let a shop do it, and now I am really experimenting with tire pressures. I have PSS9s and GT3 adjustable swaybars. Depending upon how you plan to use your car, you might consider just putting the PSS9s on first and seeing whether stiffer swaybars are even necessary, and if so, how stiff. Just my two cents.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sorry, should've provided that in the first place. Daily-driver in the summer (stored for the winter) and planning to hit the track once every month during the summer season (5-6 times a yr I guess). And in general, I am not too fussed about ride harshness... But re your suggestion though, one step at a time probably makes sense too...

POST 4Original post

Bullbear I put the PSS9's on my car and it no longer had the high speed "bounciness" but after I put the H&R swaybars on OMG it handled so much better thru the canyons, much tighter. So do the swaybars without a doubt.

POST 5Original post

Per EBS, the C4S bar is about a mm thicker than the M030 rear bar without adjustability. Doing the rear bar only may have advantages to tuning the F/R anti roll bias.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ca996, apart from the car looking like its on stilts, the "floatiness" is exactly why I need to change the suspension. I couldn't quite believe the 996 in stk form would exhibit this "wobble" at high speed. Anyway, suspension change is a must. So can I get a confirmation that i) the H&Rs do not require special drop links and ii) its only rear adjustable? Do u find yourself adjusting the rear at all? Also, where do I go to get the best price on the H&Rs? thanks

POST 7Original post

The 5MM spacers are not as "small" as they sound. I have (and many others here) put on the 5MM spacers and are really satisfied. However, this is a personal thing and some like to put on monster spacers in the rear (especially) and if you get to far out it just looks bad. So....be very carefull and see if anybody around you have spacers that you can see.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didn't even know the C4S has a different bar. I thought the C4S/Turbo has the M030 suspenson as std. Does the C4S front bar then fit a C2? I think there are two issues if I do M030 front and GT3 rear. i) the differential between the front/rear thickness is much more than any of the "matched" setup (this in itself might already changes under/oversteer characteristics), ii) if its rear adjustable only, what will that result? Being able to dial in understeer/oversteer? Anything else? thanks

POST 9Original post

Bullbear, so far I'm happy just install the pss9 with stock sway bar, also have the 5mm & 17mm spacer install. Right now I'm still enjoy my car the way it is, wait til I got bore, Maybe will consider the sway bar, ecu chip & exhaust etc......

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hear ya man. When I did some of my interior mods, I wanted to add all kinds of cf bits but I am going to hold off till next year. I got to stop spending! Plus in my previous modding experience, I find that doing one mod at a time is more enjoyable. If its a performance mod, you can see the incremental improvements. My next mods are going to be track wheels/tires and then maybe exhaust. BTW, I'd love to see pics of your ride (PSS9s + spacers). It'll be good reference for me.

POST 11Original post

That is what I thought also. The guys at EBS sourced it as a non-adjustable bar equal in diameter to the GT3. Didn't source the front bar.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
