Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use 2x4's' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'clearance' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend everyone go' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The risers are also a liitle too tall, and I use hockey pucks instead.

Suspected cause
The only issue is clearance with a lowered vehicle, but this would be true of any lift.

Darin, if your Stage II (aka MKI) on my 3.6 is the most aggressive, then I recommend everyone go with this one.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK, I just ordered a set of FisterD Stage II cans (very excited)...and I need to buy a jack and some stands or ramps. Costco has a few...sears, etc. not sure what to pick. Suggestions Please.
Aaron
The jackstands that are the pin-through style are actually safer. I've known of multiple incidents where the latch/lever style has failed (been accidently bumped, rocked, moved slightly, etc.). I was crawling under the car once with my old lever style and only slightly bumped the lever and the bar rising out of the jack stand almost slid down. Scared the *&^% out of me. Pin-through style are more money, but your life is worth it.
I also use the Husky 3 ton with the pin thru the ratchet assemply as a double safety measure...but the Sears models look just fine. And the Costco jack is hard to beat for the price.
You won't be sorry you bought Darin's muffler mods...he knows his stuff, and all his work is in stainless with artful welds.
I have one too.... It exceeded my expectations. No issues so far.
You could also look at the Greg Smith Equipment and Eagle brands. I always wanted Bend-Pak, so finally went for it in March.

Scissor... Bend Pak MD-6XP purchased from ASEdeals.com.... It's all you need. Supporting up to 6,000 lbs, I have used it with all 4 of my cars - including our Land Rover LR3 SUV...
Here's a picture taken yesterday...

I have the same one, the MD6XP mid-rise. The only issue is clearance with a lowered vehicle, but this would be true of any lift. You can compensate for this several ways. You can put some 1x12x10 planks like Blake, or you can carve a pocket in the concrete ofthe garage floor. The risers are also a liitle too tall, and I use hockey pucks instead.
Nice... especially with the LR3... it could definitely support our ML430. I've been looking at the same one for about a year but haven't had the guts to pull the trigger.
I've used the
harbor freight low profile
(racing) jack for a while. Cheap and gets under my car (lowered and side skirts).
For changing the cans, you can do 1 side at a time, and won't need stands. Just take the tire off. If you haven't done this before, it's about 20-30 minutes per side [just for the can change - not including changing mounts, tips, etc]

OK, I installed them on Sunday. Sounds MUCH better!
Definitely not too loud. In fact a little too quiet for me. (of course I'd like a button that would burst eardrums and shoot blue flames out the back)
Darin, if your Stage II (aka MKI) on my 3.6 is the most aggressive, then I recommend everyone go with this one. It's nice and growly, but not too loud inside the car. And very nice welds!
Aaron
Aaron,
I'm glad you like them! At red line they sound amazing
You should stand outside and have someone rev it hard for you....inside the car is somewhat deceiving.
Palting and Speedster,
I had a hole cut in my floor and dropped the scissor lift in it. It works great. It's nice not to have the frickin boards in the way all the time.
