Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I said I wasn't looking to take a test drive I just had some questions.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Perhaps some encouragement that resale prices are in a temporary ditch for our cars.
The 2 main dealers here in Quebec advertise together and list the cars for sale every week.
Prices haven't moved down at all over the last year that I have been monitoring the ads so people must be paying these prices or close.
This is a sampling of prices and I've shown the lower end of the scale for the year indicated.
2006 $92900.00
2005 $83900.00
2003 $59996.00
2001 $56900.00
1999 $43900.00
Except for the '99 they are all CPO'd

Hey Gregg!
It's very rare that you'll see a '99 for sale at a dealer but ya that is their asking price
Last year I looked at a 2001 Boxster S and they were asking $50000.00 !!
Hi there!! the dealers are prestige and lauzon. they advertise once a week in the gazette.
Pete
Yeah my car , which is from the US, lost about $10K of value when our dollar climbed above parity with the USD.
Maybe, I should just buy another US p-car...that's what my financial advisor is always trying to get me to do in a down market: average down!...wonder if I can sell that argument to the wife....
pete...one of the toronto dealers offered me like 35 grand on trade in for my 99 last year at the auto show.. i can only imagine its slipped since then. i think it would be safe to assume that they have about 7-10g's built into their pre-owneds.
One afternoon, several years ago as I was getting into the market for a Porsche, I stopped in to the local Toronto dealer (DFC) to look around. They had two used Boxsters in the showroom. When I tried to ask one of the salesmen who was standing around some questions, I was told I needed to make an appointment to speak with the sales staff. I said I wasn't looking to take a test drive I just had some questions. His response was to introduce me to the receptionist and asked her to schedule a time to talk with him. To top it off the sticker price on the used Boxster was nearly $73,000. Its no wonder when you go to a P-car event here in Toronto, it seems the majority of cars in attendance are from south of the border.
Hey Omar!
probably close on that assumption. I am sure that the dealers don't always rush to sell the used cars.
The Boxster S that I mentionned above was advertised by the dealer for 1 year before he stopped showing it for sale, so either he actually got close to the price of $50,000.00 grand which is insane, or he sold at auction and someone else is stuck with it.
In any case, if the majority of buyers at least here in Canada still buy "Canadian" then it is good for us.
Pete
Only 4% of luxury sales went south of the border last fall when the CAD shot up to 1.10 USD and hovered above par for a long while.
So, most buyers still buy up here at any price.
I don't understand how they get away with those prices in Toronto. It's ridiculous. On top of the crazy sticker prices, the cost for service there is at least twice what it costs in Los Angeles, and the insurance rates are probably triple too. If I ever move back to Toronto, I won't be driving a Porsche. Toronto should be voted the most un-Porsche-friendly town on earth.
paul....when people in the U.S. are paying 150$ an hr labor rate, believe me, its much cheaper servicing a car at a toronto dealer these days. i'm absolutly appauled at what the cali guys on 6speedonline are paying their dealers
Hey- fellow Montreal Pcar owners! I hadn't noticed any other 996 owners from Montreal on the forum. We should do a Montreal meet and greet.
Anyone racing their 996 in the Montreal area? I'm wondering if there are places where I would be allowed to track a Cabrio.
