Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was using one of those until I installed double din NAV.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am taking on this project within the next couple of weeks. I cannot take my old CDs and local radio anymore!!
I am going to do a DIY posted here:

Check out the Alpine 9820XM with the built in XM tuner in a single DIN form factor.
I used this head unit in my 993 for exactly the same reason - no need to tear up the interior for an extra black box
Will that Alpine unit work with the factory Bose unit? I would really like to do that, but was under the impression, from circuit city, that an after market unit wouldn't work. They said I would have to do FM modulation. 911TTcab's idea looks do able, but I've never seen a blank DIN plate to mount the small XM radio in. Were you plaiing to gut the CD holder? BTW, it just snaps in place like all the rest of the upper console parts. Easiest interior I've ever seen to work on. Mounting the antenna could be a challenge though.
First off, Please DO NOT let Circuit city work on your car! Find an installer that knows the car. That said, I have a Pioneer installed in my 02 and it's works fine and sounds great with the factory Bose amp/Speakers .
I think there is only an issue on the 03+ cars with the MOST bus.
I'm sure you're right about circuit city. I need to find a quality shop to do this kind of work. I could do it myself if I had the energy, but it would take me 2 or 3 days off and on. The older I get the slower I work. Not sure why that is, nothing is wrong with me, I just don't have a lot of stamina when rolling around on the garage floor or under the dash. Once I retire, planned for October, I will probably feel more like doing these kinds of things. Since I made the decision to retire, I am pretty worthless at work too, just biding time. I would leave now, but staying until October will give me a bonus for 2008 payable next March. It could be substantial depending on several factors.
I really want to get xm however, I do not want the antenna on the outside of the car like all of the aftermarket switches I see. Is it possible to locate that antenna on the inside of the car?
