Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

To answer your other question, there was never a 996 model called "Sport" like there was on G50 Carreras, but there were two models with some sporty goodies: the C4S was the 4wd version after 1999 or so, with a wide body and some Turbo running gear, while the 40th Anniversary was a souped-up C4S with a special engine kit (called X51) that released another 25hp to make 345.
Leading evidence: 'Run gear, while the 40th anniversary was a souped-up c4s' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run gear, while the 40th anniversary was a souped-up c4s' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys and girls,
Can you elite 996 guys give an air cooler some help?!
Does anyone know if 996 seats were ever available in the color 'linen'? Attached is a pic of the current seats and colour. I've looked around and the closest is a light grey. I would like to maintain the factory look but update the seats a little as I dont find them very comfy.
Also was there a 'sport' model?
Thanks for the help!
Spence
I don't know if Linen was available or not. I can never tell given Porsche's extensive custom order business. However, it was not a mainstream color so your chances of finding a pair on the used market is probably going to be slim/impossible.
I'd suggest a nice set of Recaros color matched to your interior. I know they make a bracket for your car and their seats are really nice.

As for seats, the 986 Boxster had essentially the same seats, but I get the impression that there were quite a few ordered with special interiors because they show up so well in the convertible. The steep drop in early 986 prices also mean that crashed cars or blown engines are often not worth repairing, so they may be a good source of interiors with interesting colours.
PS You're a brave man, driving a beautiful car like that in a city where even a right turn is an adventure!
Thanks a lot guys for all the info, posted pics and nice comments on my car! It's great to visit another area of the forum and get a warm welcome. I've driven a few 996s and really enjoyed the refinement, would love to add one to the family one day.
hahaha, you're refering to our 'hook turns', I think there's only 4 of them left in the city, they do catch foreigners out having to drive to the left hand side of the lane, wait for a red light, then turn right hopefully not getting t-boned in the process!
Spence,
996s came with 2 different styles of seats from factory, one of which had 2 different cover options.
1) Standard seats with either perforated leather or Supple leather
2) Sports seats all with perforated leather (these were std on the US 996 GT3)
Many have retrofitted the European GT3 fixed back bucket racing seats.
Do any search around here and you'll see lots of pics of the different types... FYI the sport seats have the extensions around the shoulders and bigger side bolsters.
However, I have never seen a 996 with contrasting piping on the seats (that is gorgeous). There are some with contrasting stitching on the leather, not as distinct.
