Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have had my '04 911 for a week now and love it. However, the storage cubby on the passenger door squeaks loudly, sound like plastic on plastic. Stops on sweeping right turns, but always there on left or straight. I am going to have the dealer get his silicone to it but wondered if there is an adjustment you guys are aware of. I have tried with the lid up, half way and shut - squeaks anyway. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

You sure its the cubby? MIne does that too on the passenger side when the radio is off (no correlation). I thought it was the door jams or the speaker area making the squeaks.. I'll have to listen again.. Can you let us know what you find..

POST 3Original post

adjust door striker. also lube the latch and hinge.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am sure its the cubby as it stops buzzing if I put my finger on it. Dealer will look at it after holiday but I like to be able to fix these things myself. Any further thoughts welcome, there is a latch assembly in there that may be adjustable, I'm sure the squeak is plastic to plastic though.
