I know that 964 C4's required the use of the Bosch Hammer (forerunner to the PST2) to activate the ABS channels to assist in bleeding....there have been some posts on the 964 forum regarding this.

How have people been bleeding their brakes- using a pressure bleeder or a friend or family member with a strong right leg? I just helped my son bleed the brakes on his Audi TT using the VAG-COM computer software and it actually activates the brake pressure booster and steps you through the process, with the computer doing some of it itself. Never in over 30 years have I done it this way! Not sure what that does over the regular way. Anything special with the GT3?

Motive pressure bleeder. I know that 964 C4's required the use of the Bosch Hammer (forerunner to the PST2) to activate the ABS channels to assist in bleeding....there have been some posts on the 964 forum regarding this. It sounds as though the Audi required a similar procedure.

996's needs the PST2 to do the same. Anybody now of any third party software that can activate the ABS so I can do the same at home?

We bleed brakes all the time on our work on cars days and we do not have a PST2. I think you need it only if the ABS unit has been replaced but I would have to check the shop manual.

I've been asking about a third party software vendor for Porsche for a while- I'd think there would be a good market for it. The VAG-COM works very well for my VW-Audi products. Any computer geeks out there with some free time?????
