I agree - I'm pretty sure they only made the twist 2s in wide body (I have seen solid spoke ones before used with snow tires).

The easy answer is to trade your '87 for an '86 - then you can use the WB wheels with spacers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have a set of hollow spoke widebody Turbo Twist 18x11's that i'd like to trade for a set of hollow spoke narrowbody Turbo Twists. I believe the fronts are the same so i'm only interested in trading the backs. Alternatively, i suppose i could trade the entire set for ...well, whatcha got? Mine are in pretty good shape. A small amount of curb rash in a few spots. I'm willing to make up the difference in cash, if necessary. Mine have been painted (i'd be happy to pay for some Wurth paint if that's a concern). Please send me a PM on here or shoot me an email to: ccollord (at) hotmail (dot) com. Thanks! Edit: To clear up any confusion, they're this style of wheel: And they are OEM BBS wheels, 996 part #.

POST 2Original post

So you are looking to trade 2 996 WB Turbo Twist hollow rears for 2 996 NB Turbo Twist hollow rears? I could be wrong but I don’t think there is such a wheel as a 996 NB Turbo Twist hollow wheel. Might be easier just to buy some spacers and new lugs or sell the 2 WB Turbo Twist hollow rears and purchase the wheels you need.

Yes, exactly. These are the Turbo Twist II's i believe (my mistake for not saying that earlier), i thought they were available in NB/hollow spoke? My problem is that they stick OUT too far, otherwise i would gladly space them out to where they need to be But yes, selling them is an option... The fit isn't bad enough for me to give up on them completely, but i thought if someone had some NB wheels and needed some WB wheels, maybe we could strike a deal!

POST 4Original post

I agree - I'm pretty sure they only made the twist 2s in wide body (I have seen solid spoke ones before used with snow tires). But, that style of wheel didn't ship on any narrow body cars... Now, the 993 turbo twist 1s - that's another story. The easy answer is to trade your '87 for an '86 - then you can use the WB wheels with spacers.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay, thanks guys! Maybe i'll look into a late-->early hub swap for the rear or something... :/

POST 6Original post

you can buy that wheel as a repro for narrow body fitment on ebay
