I suspect the seller would also seriously object to me dragging it off to Champion Porsche for a ppi.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I don't yet have all my $$$ in hand to buy a 996, but I keep shopping regardless. I found what looks to be a too-good-to-be-true deal, so here it is for anyone who is ready to buy. Note that the top half shows 45,000 miles while the text says 66,000 "highway miles." No big deal there either way for a 2001 996.

I was looking at that very car prior to settling on a different one last month. I think the 'catch' with that place is that they'll only do a financed deal...and hence you'll be paying a lot more than the 27,999 after all is said and done.
This is the mentioned toward the bottom of the ad:
"All ads are based on Financing w/$2000 Down at the time of purchase plus Tax, Tag, & Fees. Call the dealer if you have any questions."
I could be mistaken though, and if I am, it sure seems like a pretty good deal!
When people can't spell, don't know all the specifics or have contradicting info I would not even consider it. Another red flag for me is when they say "title is clean and clear" that is MAJOR! This is a given unless (a) it is not and that is disclosed or (b) they washed the title and have to convince you otherwise. IIRC, Texas and Florida are flooded (no pun intended) with flood damaged "washed" titles. Also, how in the world does he know how it was maintained as he stated? Please.
yes these are great cars but if you get taken and inherit a misrepresented car it can cost you DEARLY. Caveat emptor.
Yeah, this one makes me nervous. There are just too many red flags. Sadly, there are way too many scam artists down here, so anything like this makes you wonder what is hidden away, waiting to bite you on the butt as you drive away. Florida is too close to Louisiana, and the price "too good" to not wonder if this is a flood car. I suspect the seller would also seriously object to me dragging it off to Champion Porsche for a ppi.
PL, No, I didn't run a carfax, only because I am not yet ready to buy (*I* am ready, but the checkbook needs a bit more fattening). That's great advice and I will do so on any P-Car I seriously consider. I will also insist on a PPI. (I am learning how not to get screwed by reading all the great advice here on Rennlist!)
