Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 99' with the grey interior. The wheel leather coloring has faded where you would typically place your hands. Has anyone had any luck re-dying this. The wheel leather is in great shape other than the fading. It just looks bad with the color mostly gone in a couple places. Any suggestions would be geatly appreciated. Thanks, Pat

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have had a bunch of modded cars in the past and plan to keep this car as it came from Porsche. I have been burned by the mod bug too many times in my life. One reason I bought the 911 was that I would not have to mod it much.

POST 4Original post

Huh?????? Most of us have spend our kids college fund on mods for the car. **editor's note** I do not have kids nor did I spend their college fund..that was just hyperbole

POST 5Original post

I do. "Honey, can you say State School?" Get it redone - I think many leather shops will do this... not sure where near you though.

POST 6Original post

Easy, you can strip it with acetone and redye it with SEM leather and vinyl color, which they can match to your color.

Mods what are mods...I havent touched my car ! Check ebay lots of grey wheels on there

POST 9Original post

Might try shoe polish. I've used it at times to cover blems. Wipe off well and it does not get on your hands. Careful with dyes on a steering wheel. I'm not familiar with SEM but I had the top boot redyed on an SL. Lasted about a year then looked worst than when I started. Florida sun.
