Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Saw this: http://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/cto/1114731499.html 250,000+k miles. It does have a new engine now, but the old one lasted 200K. -td

POST 2Original post

Not a record for the 996 3.4, but definitely would be for the 3.6.......... Take notice that this is a 1999 3.4 people (Flame suit on!)

POST 3Original post

there is a guy in the 996TT forum with more than 200k miles on his 996TT, but he has his original engine + tranny..

POST 4Original post

22500 for that kind of mileage seems way off to me. I have been looking and it seems really high.

POST 5Original post

Mine has 76K on it now, and I'm putting about 20K/year on it, so I HOPE it lasts till 250K.

Maybe you should consider it a 50K car (mechanically anyway). If so, 22.5 is a deal for a low mileage 996, lol. -td

POST 7Original post

At first I thought Phil was selling his car, but then I woke up.

POST 8Original post

That's like 85x the mileage of my car. And, to think - I still have my original engine.

Im not sure I understand that, but im sure your aware that 50k on the engine is not 50k mechanically. 250k on a car effects so many things mechanically. I would say one of the most horrible and could be the most expensive very over looked thing is bushings(everywhere). Especially in hot *** tex. They are very timely for a shop to put them all in and are not cheap them selves. Next is the tranny, dif, wheel bearings, rotors, shocks, master cylinder, engine/tranny mounts, and so so so many other things. 250k of road vibrations and heat can put a tremendous amount of ware on any car. I think the price is high for the amount of things you must consider will need to be replaced soon. I would also most importantly look at how many miles you intend to put on it. Someone will have a **** time trying to sell a 300k + mile porsche. But this is just my 3:47am opinion.
