Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I didnt shut it off w/ durametric, instead I disconnected the neg term for @5min and restarted it. The cel is gone, I didnt get a chance to drive it (foul weather).

You would think that if its a MAF issue it would run like crap, but its running great.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

With the 2nd generation EVO CAI, the problem is gone.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...but no error codes... my scanner goes online fine, but say no coded. Whats causing this cel and how to get rid of it? unplug the neg terminal? TIA

POST 2Original post

If your gas cap is loose, or if you put gas in the car while the engine is running, this will cause the CEL to light. If it is either of those issues, it will take a few cycles of turning the car on and off a bunch of times before the light goes off. Could be as simple as that. Good luck. J

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

gas cap is tight, but light is still on and till no codes... wierd stuff

POST 4Original post

Try someone with a PST2, PIWIS or Durametric Software. Unless the light is shorted there should be code(s).

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks guys... I have the durametric and no codes, I unplugged the neg term and now has no cel light. Will updated this as time goes on and will try to pinpoint the prob. Might have an intermittent issues and enough to latch the cel light even though the prob has come and gone... again, thanks guys

POST 6Original post

If the gas cap is loose, you should still get a code about a small vapor leak in the emissions. That's weird. It says you have too much HP.

POST 7Original post

Something does not make sense - the CEL comes on and stays on until the fault is corrected. What happens if you turn it off with the Durametric Software?

POST 8Original post

Redridge, I had an intermittent CEL due to my first generation EVO CAI. It probably had something to do with the positioning of the MAF in the intake tract. With the 2nd generation EVO CAI, the problem is gone. Is it possible that your problem is similar due to the S/C? Good Luck. Did you ever get an updated 1/4 mile time with the new plenum? I'm still enjoying one of your pictures as my screensaver, Thanks.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Loren, Im w/you I always thought that cel are on until the prob is fixed, and since it cleared (cel), the prob must be gone. I didnt shut it off w/ durametric, instead I disconnected the neg term for @5min and restarted it. The cel is gone, I didnt get a chance to drive it (foul weather). Question: if a fault comes in, triggers a cel, then problem corrects itself, will the fault code still be displayed even though the fault is corrected. I just cant understand that a cel is present but shows no fault code... (BTW I drove it with the cel and it drove great).

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its possible its an issue with the MAF but you would think that it would at least trigger a code... the car runs great, and the cel is gone. You would think that if its a MAF issue it would run like crap, but its running great. As far as 1/4 mile time, I havent gotten a chance I have just been more focused on some DE events... will PM U when I do

POST 11Original post

I had a CEL for one day. Next day it was gone. Should that be possible?

POST 12Original post

Yes, if the problem is corrected or if corrects itself then the DME turns the CEL off. Depending on the problem it can be a different number of drive cycles.
