Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Rennlisters, Been lurking for a bit whilst looking for the right car, and lovin' the learnin' from the forum. Recently pulled the trigger on a CPO'd '02 Targa as some of the price points on used 996s represent unbelievable deals. Per newb etiquette, postin' some pics of the ride! Cheers!

POST 2Original post

Sweet, almost went that route myself. Looks great with the side skirts. Now work on that tan. Andy, '02 coupe

POST 3Original post

CONGRATS AND WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!! Wow...you don't even need to replace any pumpkins....great skirts. DRIVE IT WELL!!!! j

POST 4Original post

Welcome to Rennlist. Love the ride. Enjoy in good health...

POST 7Original post

Nice ride and welcome. I still do not know what the diff is between a targa and a coupe, oh well.

POST 8Original post

Congrats, There is nothing like the Porsche ownership.Car looks great!

POST 9Original post

Coupe = moonroof Cab = convertible Targa = not being like everyone else (.....roof is all glass and is fully retractable into the car interior.....)

POST 10Original post

http://www.seriouswheels.com/cars/to...-911-Targa.htm I like this link the best since it looks in the pictures like it is my color, Meridian Metallic Silver. And yeah, mine is a 2003 as well.

POST 11Original post

Thanks and that is really cool, that is to put groceries in the back seat easily

POST 12Original post

Welcome and thanks for sharing the pics! Nice Ride!

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the warm welcome, fantastic peeps on this website! The targa is great given the weather in SoCal, but the structural rigidity is nowhere near a coupe. Like you've mentioned, the hatchback is a fantastic feature and great for hauling things from the grocery store.

POST 14Original post

Beautiful car - pretty sure I saw you on the PCH in Santa Monica last week.

POST 15Original post

Congrats, love targas, and also love those mk1 skirts.....

POST 16Original post

love the targa look...let us know how (if there is any) heat problem is...I have a panoramic sunroof in my x5...and it is way to hot during the summer, but great the rest of the year (when the roof is open ofcourse)

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can definitely get warm in the summer w/o the sunshade, and with or without the roof open. But, with the sunshade deployed the majority of the rays do get blocked, and it's absolutely tolerable... did the drive to Vegas a few weeks ago, up to 110F in NV at the time, stayed crisp and cool inside with the A/C!

POST 18Original post

good thing is that it is only super hot for a couple of months the rest of the year...you will enjoy the "view".....and the targa is perfect in the evenings, when a cab (like I have) is to cold and windy.

POST 20Original post

sweet ride man...the color and rims make it look like a 40th anniversary 911. congrats!

POST 21Original post

I've had my TARGA for 3.5 years now, 54K miles and still loving it. With the Aero Kit, She looks great. Good Luck, P.S. Try driving in light rain with the top open.... no rain enters, it is a trip, my kiddies love it and ligthin storm are light a disco club... AWESOME. enjoy...

POST 22Original post
