Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Cant seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance. John

POST 4Original post

Don't you need fancy little torx security bits to get it out of the intake completely?

yup... if you buy the $600 Evo CAI... it comes with one. Kinda expensive for just a little tool though.

POST 7Original post

Go to Harbor Freight. You can get a full Torx bit set for about $10.

Is that because they know that the CAI will eventually screw up your MAF and they want to make it easier for you to install the new MAF?

Now WHERE is the fun in that approach???? Jon

POST 11Original post

I have that griots set and it is awesome, also have their 1 degree 1/4" and 3/8" drive ratchets and they have paid for themselves in saved time in tight spaces. Griot's is sometimes expensive but they have nice garage gear and cleaner/waxes. Steve

Does anyone know the specific torx size needed to remove the MAF?

POST 13Original post

Barn: You didn't clean your MAF yet?? It's T20 in my Griots tool kit. Hope that helps.
