Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

THey replaced the seat cover on my wife's Boxter just becasue it had a fold in it.

Porsche would have to send a representative though probably a non lawyer.

Might be worth a road trip, we are talking about the seats, not like they won't give a new plastic clip or a free oil change...new seats are big bux!!!

My steering wheel had a somewhat similar problem after three years, and I not only got the new one they let me switch to 3-spoke and change colors (I bought the new airbag).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

well, the sport seat with worn leather still remains a problem. regional service manager for porsche n.a. says "no way" to giving me a new drivers seat although the leather is wearing through after less than 2 months of ownership.
to me, that sucks! i mean i pay $90K for a car, don't haggle on price, and they act like they owe me nothing because they don't have to.
i'm not finished with this issue... we'll visit this problem as it progresses.
Write a letter to them and CC head office. Have it delivered and signed for.
Do this on a weekly basis until they respond. Even if they respond negatively. Your going to need records to fight it. If they don't respond then all the better in court.
In the UK the consumer is protected by statutary rights. The law states that goods purchased must be:
* of satisfactory quality - they must meet the standard that a reasonable person would regard as acceptable bearing in mind the way they were described, what they cost and any other relevant circumstances. This covers, for instance, the appearance and finish of the goods, their safety, and their durability.
* free from defects, even minor ones, except when they have been brought to your attention by the seller for example, if the goods are said to be shop-soiled.
* fit for their purposes, including any particular purpose mentioned by you to the seller - for example, if you are buying a computer game and you explain that you want one which can be played on a particular type of machine, the seller must not supply you with one that cannot.
These rights are defined by law in the UK. Surely you must have similar rights in the US. It is after all the most letigious country in the world.
It may be worth the $100 or so to get a letter from your lawyer. I would at least approach him for advice.
If it was me I would take it back and demand a refund or fix.
Ruh rho, are you dealing with the dealership that used to be Contemptuous before they were bought and changed to Porsche of Orlando? If so, I wish you the best of luck - cause you're going to need it. The regional PCNA guy there won't do anything for you either (as you've already learned). And, P of O won't do anything they don't absolutely have to - especially after your checks have cleared.
PS. Make sure you have
EVERYTHING
in writting with
those
guys.
Don,
No, just the sport seats in black. I didn't appreciate the immediate defensive attitude I received. Yes, it is Porsche of Orlando. The salesman there has been awesome, but it appears that the service department is handcuffed by the regional service manager. Of course, I realize the dealership can do whatever they want and take care of me if they want.
I'll follow all of your recommendations. Dated photos...good idea.
Thanks
Not a bad idea... Reeves in Tampa or Suncoast in Sarasota, however I would think they have the same regional manager. I am surprised they are balking if the leather is wearing through within two months... unless you are wearing sandpaper pants there is no way they could claim normal wear and tear. Post some photos once you take some, I would be curious to see myself.
Is the Fla regional mgr the same one in GA, or another nearby state? Might be worth a road trip, we are talking about the seats, not like they won't give a new plastic clip or a free oil change...new seats are big bux!!!
That totally blows dude. Hope that you can get another dealer to come through for you. Even two years out of the box would still be a product defect in my book. Wearing through the finish at two months is ludicrous. It's good to know that P of O has a crap reputation regarding this sort of stuff. I am even happier now that I went w/ Bert Smith Porsche (St. Pete). Even though I am relatively local to P of O, I plan on driving over to St. Pete for service. They have treated me very well thusfar.
Jeff
Here's a pic of the worn leather. Not much but still wear that I noticed at 5 weeks of ownership. The sides also popped out and had to be tucked back behind the lip. Dealer said, "well, you'll just have to get used to tucking it back in."
(hopefully the pic attachment works...first time)
I would take to the next level and send a letter to the regional manager's boss at PCNA. I have a feeling they'll come around. With all the stories I've heard about people getting new engines out of warranty I can't believe they would screw with you over a 2 month old seat. It's just not good business. They seat may list for $2,000 but it doesn't cost Porsche much. I would just keep writing a letter to the next higher up until you get satisfaction, right up to the president of PCNA if you have to. You'll get what you want eventually.
That may not look like much now, but you can tell it'll grow and become bad.
It's just not acceptable Porsche would'nt stand behind this. If they'll replace a dash that has a tiny bubble in the leather, they should replace that seat...
My steering wheel had a somewhat similar problem after three years, and I not only got the new one they let me switch to 3-spoke and change colors (I bought the new airbag). Friendly dealer had a lot to do with it, you are really going to have to get to another one, well worth it.
Quite wasting your time. Florida must have a small claim court and usually attorneys are not allowed. You can file a claim present it to the judge and he/she will decide the issue. Porsche would have to send a representative though probably a non lawyer.
Unless they can show abuse your case looks like winner.
