Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the "guy bent over with the airbag" light that came on my dash today. Never seen it before. Can someone tell me what it means? Are there various things it could mean? trip to the dealer, etc. Thanks

POST 2Original post

most likely the air bag light, going to have to get the faults read.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! The "stealer" it is.

POST 4Original post

Mine did the same about 2 weeks ago. It seems the airbags were fine, but the seatbelt buckles have a fault and need to be upgraded to the 997 style ones I was told. Around $600 because you have to get both done at once. That's what the dealer told me anyway. He said he'd clear it and if it came back on, then have it serviced. So far so good.

POST 5Original post

POST 6Original post

I had mine (99) in the shop repeatedly for this but luckily it's a TSB issue and I've never paid a dime for any of the repairs. Just a lot of frustration having to keep taking the car back.

POST 8Original post

Do you have a Durametric code reader? I saw a thread on renntech on using Dexoit 5 to clean the seat belt connectors. I got the reader, code 45 seat belt, sprayed the connections with the cleaner and cleared the code and so far it hasn't come back on. FYI: I do have the updated gold connectors and had the seat belt connectors replaced under warranty a couple of years ago
