Hello, My check engine light is on. I just had an oil change and the problem happened because my mechanic forgot to screw the oil cap back on securely. So I brought it back cause my cause my car started having inconsistent idle RPM speeds. The service mgr. said my onboard computer is confused due to the excess air in the car. They fixed the problem and I drove off. So now the light is back on and the idle RPMs are still a little shaky... I need to bring it back, but just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if this is anything to be concerned about. Thanks!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

If it really is just the oil cap it should be ok. Let it cycle a couple of times and the computer should clear the code by itself.
