Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had changed the air filter on my own previously.

There is a lot of fluff built into the check list.

Does that mean I don't need to do the service till 47,000 (assuming I get the oil change every 10 or 15k)?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Shoot Bloke I'm at 25 k now so getting close to the 30k service. I need to go to the dealership today anyway and ask then I'll post it for you here. It's probably $749.99 : ). Whats with this .99 thing- I think it's a psychological thing that if it costs 4.99 for octane 100 fuel people would say it's 4 bucks. Damn capitalists!!!I'll let you know later on today Bloke and how's your car doing-did your little ding get fixed and all(be specific : )!!!). Regards. Mike
Marketing 101 - it's called psychological pricing. As a bean counter I say 5 bucks and it drives the retail clerks mad as they respond, no it's $4.99. You are dead on in thinking the general populace thinks 4 bucks.
Mike,
Great job by the bodyshop. The guy is really good and I had some work done on my M3. I couldnt use the paintless dent removal since the dent is too large plus I also dented the botton part of the car. Finally, this is the area of the car which I had a big A@@ scratch. But for 600 bucks a great job and plus he got someone to do my aligment for me as well for 140.
Also, my car has 28500 on it so I better start calling around. I might just want to send to an independent shop for the service and has a Porsche dealer take a look at the car.
Darn I must be part of the General populace then Brent : (. Bloke- if you plan to take it to an independent service shop and get it later checked out by a Porsche service I can visualize you paying about 450 for the independent and another 300 for the Porsche guys to check out and guess what you'll still pay the same and you know how it goes the dealer will say the independent did a crappy job and they need to refix everything and charge you for more parts and more labor. Just joking- as long as the independent is reputable and specialize in watercool porsche's shouldn't be a problem. Also in mind that car still under warranty so maybe best til when warranty expires and then go to independent for future service since you never know if Porsche finds something thats broken and needs to be fixed it could be a warranty item. Regards. Mike
Guys, I'm at 24.5K and I was inquiring about the 30K service as well. The Porsche workshop guys indicated about 1K - 600 - 700 for parts, and the rest for labor. One of the things that influences the final price is the cost of labor -- not sure if all Porsche mechanics charge the same price, but this is key.
Regards.
I just had my 30 K, and did it a'lacart. There is a lot of fluff built into the check list. I had the oil, brake fluid, pollen filter, and plugs changed, and the hand brake adjusted. I had changed the air filter on my own previously. Came in at $600 with parts, labor and taxes. Perry
What does the 30k service invovle? I had an engine replacement at around 17,000. Does that mean I don't need to do the service till 47,000 (assuming I get the oil change every 10 or 15k)?
