This one helped me survive a 55mph driver side impact with a '74 Plymouth Satellite that ran a red light.

However, I sold it when I realized there was no way to change back plugs without pulling the engine.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Only a few interesting cars...
An S2000... Though I wish I had that sweet '63 vette in the background!
Though I typically don't like to stop when the pavement ends. A Paris-Dakar 959 would have been my perfect Porsche! So...
A few interesting SUV's...

If I only had a crystal ball. Here are a few of the most memorable for me. Someday I'll dig up old pics, I hope.
1966 Mustang GT convertible - in dash 8 track - split front bench seat - rally pack - Dark Blue with a white rag top.
1966 Mustang Coupe - White with a classic red interior - V-8 Automatic basic transportation back in the day.
1970 Mustang Mach 1 - 351 Cleveland motor - 1/4 mile car until I blew it up.
1969 Corvette - Mako Shark front end - 350/350 - took best of class and most outstanding sports car - wish I knew where the heck that trophy went.
1968 Porsche 911 - still in the family - owned by a cousin - and this is the one that hooked me on Porsche
Somewhat memorable
1980 Saab Turbo
1987 Mazda 626 GT Turbo
1968 Chrysler New Yorker with a 440 - I was a kid driving what was an old mans luxury boat, but man did this car run like a banshee - of course fuel was less than 40 cents a gallon at that time. It was pretty much a gallons per mile kind of machine
Thanks for jogging the memories!
We had this model MG in the garage when I was a kid (not this car - ours was burgundy) - and I will own another one some day. What a wonderful vehicle...
I had an '88 Fiero for several years. I know that Fieros get about as much love as the 996, but I loved that car and would buy one if I could find one in relatively good condition...
I had a red 1960 MGA RHD while living in Spain in the middle 60s. I was 17 years old and regularly drove to Gibraltar from Madrid. It was an incredible time in my life
I had one too, red with the glass butresses like yours. I europeanized the bumpers/lights and then dropped a rally motor sourced from Carma into it and it became a beast. I loved that car in spite of the brakes.
Others:
1969 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe (two headlight model)
1971 Dino 246GT
XKE-I drove it 30 miles each way to work for a couple of years in the 90's.
It seemed like 1 hour of weekend work for each hr of driving. Beautiful car but more of a GT than a true sports car. Heater worked great except in the winter.
Dripped oil on the exhaust heading up the hill home and left quite a cloud.
XK 120 lost a wire wheel in back country at about 60 MPH. Frame was so strong that I just stopped it, found the wheel, put it on and drove home. The car did not drop more than a couple of inches.
63 FI vette was a screamer compared to my 70 HP 356 Porsche.
The lancia came with about 80 hp and with so much glass it was hard to cool even in San Diego. Really a nice car overall. I would have loved it with a stronger motor. It had a huge sunroof that folded in the top bar. Sold it to get a guards red 84 carrera coupe with room for kids in back- much faster car.
Had the Corvette for 6 months, hated it. Had the S2000 for 11 years and 125,000 flawless miles, loved it. The BMW 330i was and still is my daily driver.
Larry, the Maserati was one of my better investments. It is an all aluminum car....it is probably one of the most affordable alloy bodied cars from the 50s and 60s. It is rapidly appreciating right now...low 200s and climbing.
1999 Land Rover Discovery 1 with Rockware mods. Still own.
2000 Kawasaki ZX-12R, the big boy Ninja. So many amazing memories riding that bike all over the Western U.S. Made more memories with that bike than any other motorized vehicle I have owned. Sold it to fund four wheel track toys. Still haven't replaced the experience.
You mean a "Le Car"? Lol, unfortunately that one and the Fuego never really caught on in the states. I did like the Fuego door handles and wished they sold the Renault 5 turbo in the states. Come to think of it, wished they sold the Clio Cup here as well.
I did have a mga with a Buick aluminum v-6. Almost 3 times the hp. However, I sold it when I realized there was no way to change back plugs without pulling the engine.
Harley VRSCR Street Rod ... there's a lot of wheels and brakes and stuff, but I figured this was the most relevant part, given where the design came from.
One of the cars that I miss the most is my 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. It was a total pain in the *** to own. It broke down constantly. It was unreliable. I tried to park on a hill whenever I could so that I could start it by rolling down the hill and popping the clutch. Despite all the faults, I loved this car.
I couldn't find a photo of my actual car, but here's one I found online of the same model and color combination that I owned.
Nice! I had a similar Fiero (88 Formula) for almost a decade and loved it. It was my second Fiero. It probably ranks near the top on the fun-per-dollar scale. Especially after dropping in a bigger V6.
It was one of the reasons why I had to have a Porsche. I have never owned a car that didn't have the engine behind the driver.
Nice thread, some very interesting cars listed.
Here's my contribution (not updated since 2009 though):

and 2 of my favorites:
Sold my 66 Corvette last spring. Frankly while it was beautiful, driving it anywhere for more than a half hour was brutal. 4.11 rear, clutch like exercise equipment and no AC
image-753167515.jpg
No pics handy but had a '74 V-6 Capri. Slow as mud but built like an Abrams.
Until the 996, my fave was the '86 RX-7. Smooth, really well built--total joy to drive. My dad had an early '78 Rx-7 and I had an '81. Good but not like the '86.
Some great pics! Love the Cougar, lvc! What did you fly in the fleet?

I had a '76 Capri V6. They were built pretty tough. This one helped me survive a 55mph driver side impact with a '74 Plymouth Satellite that ran a red light. It also knocked me head on into a street light pole. The police officer told me in the hospital, "If you hadn't been wearing a seat belt, you would have died". (The bend in the steering wheel is where my mouth hit it. Surprisingly, nothing was broken).
pfbz....nice R100GS!
The closest I am going to get to a Swedish supermodel is my DD, a `98 V70R in Saffron. A rare factory color only made for one year. 180K miles and counting. And yes, they are prone to RMS leaks too, tee hee.

.....and my old 748R.

I've had a lot of interesting cars over the years, here are the mentionable:
built motor GT30R STi
built motor GT35R STi
AM General Hummer
'87 Grand National
BMW 2002
'99 Viper ACR
2WD Murcielago
Among the over 25 cars I've owned, here are my favorites
92 BMW E30 M-Technic II - Full Package (only 700 ever made, 160 in Red)
92 Toyota MR2 NA
1991 BMW E30 M-Technic II - Appearance Package
1974 Toyota Corolla Te27
1992 VW Cabriolet
2005 Subaru STI
2013 Ducati 848 Evo (current)
I few other interesting cars that I owned besides the Alfa:
-
1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe
. This car had a 2.3L turbo engine (190 hp) and a 5-speed manual transmission. It was a big car, but it was really fun to drive and surprisingly quick.
-
2004 Saab 9-5 Aero Sedan
. This car also had a 2.3L turbo engine (250 hp) and a 5-speed manual transmission. It had
shocking
torque steer once the boost came online, but it was also really fun. I attended the Saab Aero Academy at Road Atlanta, which was a nice touch and a good way to get some time behind the wheel on their autocross track.
-
2006 HUMMER H3
. The baby HUMMER was much smaller than the H1 or H2, but it was also very fun. It was wonderful offroad. There's more to it than just a Trailblazer with square fenders...
Cool thread. I'm on Porsche #9, but here's a few of my more interesting cars from the past.
2004 Mini Cooper. Pretty good car, basically a go-kart. I currently have a 2002 S that I can't wait to sell.
1997 Saab 900SE, was a highway rocket with a boost controller but torque steered like hell.
Audi S8 that I just sold, fantastic car.
2005 RX8, great daily driver.
2003 Maserati Coupe, looked and sounded like sex but really wasn't that great to drive.
Everybody should own at least one.
1991 Land Cruiser, fantastic truck. Ran like new at 200k.
2005 Legacy GT, pretty damn quick with a lot of Cobb goodies.
2002 Jaguar XJR, a recliner strapped to a rocket. Great car.
1995 C36 AMG, better than an M3 IMHO but no stick shift.
1993 Saab 9000 Aero, another highway rocket with an MBC.
1995 BMW 540i/6, the only BMW I've liked.
1993 325i, started my hatred of BMW.
1999 A4, way better car than my 3-series.
