Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

My 2002 C2 has about 87K miles and it is making all sorts of rattling, creaking, squeaking noise on the passenger side. It's coming from all sorts of directions and I cannot pinpoint where it's coming from.
I would park the car and try to put pressure on various points to re-create the sound, but no success there.
One clue is that some of the noise is coming from the passenger seat because when there is a passenger, the number / kind of noise is reduced. I, then, only hear it coming from the roof, door and etc.
I know I am very vague here, but any recommendation on what I need to would be really appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi had a really annoying rattle coming from inside the door, so I took the liner off and had to cut through some of the foam barrier inside and found that the screw holding the window winder had come loose and that would rattle. Now its sorted, but the other door has started, need to fix that over winter. Try closing the doors and putting on some thumping base music, it may help with revealing some rattles. Roof rattle could be inside the headliner, which I need to tackle over winter as well. Good luck!
One day I got a new annoying noise from the passenger seat area. I put the seat all the way back and looked underneath. Found a plastic soft drink bottle one of my sons left in the car and it rolled under the seat. It made a racket! Inspect everything carefully, move the seat to various positions and see if anything changes. Check the seat bracket bolts. Take a passenger with you and have them listen to door/other rattles and squeaks. Aside from that, start removing stuff...seat, door panels, hood liner, running down a rattle can be complex and time consuming.
I had an annoying noise coming from the passenger seat too. It turned out to be an easy fix though. I dropped my wife off at the mall and it went away! ;-)
Frustrating. All I can tell you is that rattles (like roof leaks) almost never originate from where you think they do.
While you are driving, have a passenger (not your wife) use their ears to press on the various door panels and console areas where the rattles might originate.
I found this practice to be safest since I am not preoccupied while driving the car and I don't have to listen to my wife bitc4 about the piece of $hit car I bought that rides like a dump truck.
This helped me with quite a lot of rattles...even those that I would have sworn were not coming from from the windshield (front or rear).

Stakeman.....I laughed out loud at your post.....awesome.
I had a "rattle" that drove me INSANE for about a week. It turned out to be a rub - not a rattle. It was the passenger seat belt receptacle rubbing on the leather seat. There is a little stick on fuzzy pad - looks like the loop part of Velcro that Porsche sticks on to prevent this, but, it is not big enough. I added another little piece of padding (loop half of Velcro) to it and it went away. I cannot tell you how happy I was it went away.
