Or you can simply replace the regulator for about $60.00 with a new one from Bosch or buy the complete rebuilt bosch alternator for about $300.

I have a 2001 C2 with 30,000 miles and my alternator does not charge. The belt is still good so I will have to take it in. What should I expect to pay at a Porsche Dealership for a replacement and the work? I have a personal mechanic but he is backed up for two weeks. He would be much less. Thanks for any guesses. This is my first mechanical issue. Paul

I changed this a couple of weeks ago. its easy, just do it yourself... it cost me a total of 170.00 for rebuilt alternator from autozone.
