This is not a probability of success.

Now if I could only find where to put the key so I could start and use the car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks for all the pics guys. I guess it's not a gauge. It's left of the battery one. It's a circle to the top left of that. From the pics, it looks like a speaker or something? It's the left most thing in the last pic that tim posted
Skoot your gauge is there. You posted a pic of it on you "Car in Driveway" thread.
You are missing the mic cover.
See guys, this is why I hate Newbies!
Skoot, just kidding!
I've got plenty more newbie questions where that came from. Just spreading them out so as soon as you think I'm done, BAM, another one.
Thanks for the info tho everyone. As you can tell, I need to read the manual, but so far have only read select pages.
That hole is to plug your oxygen mask into the self re-generating breathing aparatus on all 996's to keep you from passing out when you are accellerating thru the turns........ did you get a mask with the car ??
on a serious note:
you have some sort of an issue over there, looks like its peeling up? and the mic cover is missing.....take a close up pic and post it
Skoot,
They put the manual in a particular order and number the pages sequentially for a particular reason. If you start with page 1 and continue reading through the highest numbered page (a.k.a. last page) in the manual, it increases your understanding by 1000%. Damn Newbies!!!
Skoot, you are alright.... I don't care what I say about you!
that white looking line is just glare. Only the mic cover is missing. It looks like a pretty empty hole behind it. Is it really just cosmetic, or if there a mic hidden in there that I didnt see?
I thought they just threw the manual in for the pictures when you're bored on a long drive. interesting.
Now if I could only find where to put the key so I could start and use the car. They seem to have forgotten my key hole on the right side of the steering wheel
looks like they removed the optional shift light since it was a very rare option.... you should call the original owner and ask for it back... its a very expensive option.
Skoot, there may be a reason they LEFT it off you car... or maybe it fell in the mic hole that is LEFT of the gauges...... wait a minute, I seem to remember that on the 2002 Carrara White cabs that had Natural Brown Leather they moved it to the LEFT of the steering column . Maybe you can check there.
<Tim whispers so everyone but Skoot can hear) Oh jeez guys, we got a real winner here!
This guy is dumber than owl ****, but I like him because he reminds me of Phil. I think they have a lot in common! However, with a little work, Skoot may actually be salvageable. Phil on the other hand..... <Tim stops whispering>
