As for the PPI, I know the owner, and know for a fact the car is not being sold to avoid repair bills (it is recently off CPO).

Anyone out there have a membership they could use to run a report for me?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Yes, I'm cheap, but I hate paying full price for a carfax membership when all I want to do is run one carfax. Anyone out there have a membership they could use to run a report for me?
I have found what seems to be a screaming deal on an 01 turbo. Slightly higher mileage, but crazy low price (01, sports seats, evo chip and intake, nice aftermarket stereo with custom subbox and amp rack behind rear seats, etc....). Recently came off of cpo warranty. Thanks guys.
LOL - your going to spend how much and 20 + dollars is going to break ya? Have the Seller take it of the purchase price if he is so confident it will show to be flawless.
Any dealer can tell many stories about someone who will pay for a Porsche and then complain about the small expenses. Dude has some nerve to actually post this request!
Sorry guys...I know...I'm cheap. Carfax came back clean
(by the way, never saw that sticky). Anyway, you want to know cheap, you'll never guess how much I'm paying for this turbo!
I can read between the lines and I'm starting to get the idea that you're cheap.
However, I highly suggest you spring for a good PPI. Truly good deals are out there, but most of the time there is a reason that the price is cheap.
How's that go again? The most expensive car you'll ever own is the cheapest car you buy?
Everyone likes a good deal but it is the rare uber Porsche that comes on the market cheap because some seller has a generous heart.
You can't have been the only shopper and that the car's still around means other shoppers have likely looked, kicked the tires, and then turn and left the car sitting for the next person.
Sincerely,
Macster
Redridge...you are very, very close (shockingly close, actually). As for the PPI, I know the owner, and know for a fact the car is not being sold to avoid repair bills (it is recently off CPO). Deal should be done on Thursday, at which point I will take it into my mechanic. I know, caveat emptor, but I had to move quickly given some unique circumstances surrounding the owner's personal situation, and there were several back-up offers waiting in the wings (the car was lowered 5k last week from the previous price, which caused a flood of calls from around the nation).
Couple of points:
1. CarFax is mostly BS. It tracks ownership changes, smog tests and mileage. Sometimes it will miss accidents. I had an old Nissan Maxima that got into a small accident where the front bumper and a few panels had to be replaced. The whole works were involved: California Highway Patrol, Insurance, etc. I sold the car a couple of years ago and nothing came on the CarFax report.
2. In future, if you want a free carfax report there are tons of places to get it. ( e.g.

). Asking RL is a bad move.
