Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New to 996. Any solid recommendations for a service shop in H-town? Criteria: quality. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Hey, welcome to Rennlist. I've been doing similar research... here's what I know thus far - Dealers: 1. I've had warranty work done at Momentum Porsche (Jeff Pollard, Richard Walker) - they did an excellent job, and provided really top level customer service. 2. Porsche North Houston - they are relatively new, and therefore their service fees are very reasonable, and so are their tire / part prices (essentially cost). Just FYI. Indy: I've pretty much settled on Protechnik ( http://www.protechnik.com/ ) - many local P-car guys with rediculous rides (GT2 etc) have had their cars worked on there... and say nothing but good things. I have not been there yet, but plan to do my 45K service in the next few months. Good luck - if you go somewhere else, please post back and let me know how it goes...

I haven't yet used them, but a friend with a 996 has has a good experience with Protechnik. Now that my car is out of warranty, I will give them a try next time I need something.

POST 4Original post

Long way from our part of town, but for suspension work, I can highly recommend Curt at C&C Northside Motors. http://www.ccsnorthsidemotors.com Curt is a great guy who puts a ton of work into getting your car aligned and corner balanced. I would not go elsewhere for alignment type work. Don't let the Lexus specialist fool you. Curt has plenty of p-car experience, and does all of the work on one fellow Houstonian's 996 cup car. Lexus' pay the bills. Porsche's & other track cars provide the fun for him. For other more by-the-book stuff I've been very happy with West Houston Porsche. I've had less than favorable experiences with some of the other dealers, and now have all my dealership type work done at W. Houston.

As VR might say "lighten up Fancis", I know Bobby. Trust me, he needs the abuse. Newhouse, call me if you want to see my suspension and look at those shocks.
